I have fun though

While we're all talking about both the WGA/SAG strikes and Barbenheimer, I hope everyone realises that the entire reason this exists is because Christopher Nolan stood up to Warner Bros against pushing their entire cinematic slate onto streaming in 2021, by taking his next film to another studio.

Then, as an act of petty revenge, they decided to deliberately move their single biggest movie of 2023 (and arguably WB's biggest non-Batman/Harry Potter movie in DECADES) directly onto his release date.

So no, the Barbie Marketing isn't "so good it helped another movie". The Barbie Marketing Machine was specifically designed to get back at someone who dared to stand up against WB executives.

It was a calculated move of malice by soulless corporate fuckeroonies.

This is not true, nobody including WB executives were expecting Barbie to be as big as it gotten (until the last few weeks when presales were over the roof). The Flash was expected to be their biggest movie which is why they didn’t cancel it, even after all of the leading actor’s controversies, and it’s marketing budget was insane.

Were they they trying to be petty by releasing Barbie at the same time? Very probable, but were they expecting it to be their biggest movie and that’s why they chose to release it at the same as Nolan’s? No.

So in love with Link Click's season 2 opening ❤️

If you haven't seen this donghua yet, I highly recommend it!

It's SO GOOD and it will break your heart!

sometimes I just think about Jackie. Jackie, who would be horrified that the girls ate her, horrified that Shauna would say it's what she would've wanted. Jackie, who would hate that her necklace was being used as some sort of symbol, hate that people were murdered and hunted while wearing it, when all she wanted was for it to keep people safe. Jackie, the girl who was unknowingly the biggest thing standing between complete disarray and civility. she died not knowing how important she was, not knowing how much her death would change the lives of these girls. she died in the snow, betrayed and thinking that her friends hated her.

pouring one out for jackie taylor tonight. these first two seasons, it has been her that moved the story along. they would have never made it to nationals or gotten on that plane without her scoring that goal in s1, her death started the cannibalism in s2. hard to see how that trend can continue in s3 now that she’s super mega dead. she’ll continue to haunt the narrative, but we’re officially at the end of a girlfail era 😔✊

You know we’re friends till we die And either way you turn I’ll be there Open up your skull I’ll be there Climbing up the walls
