Gender Troubles: The Butches

As encapsulated so perfectly in Alison Bechdel’s ‘Fun Home’:

As a butch woman who was once a wee butch girl, I can attest to the sheer power of this.

Dolphins doing cartwheels with an aquarium guest.

I'm loving this new trend of people going to zoos and participating in animal enrichment. We use to observe large exotic animals for our entertainment, but the fact is that we are now trying to make ourselves equally as entertaining for them. It's interactive, completely parpicipatory and I would argue that eventually someone's gonna come up with something new enough that it expland ethologists understanding about how some animals think, problem solve, communicate and feel and I think its fantastic.

Human: play?

Aquatic creature from an entirely different branch of the animal tree: play!

ok the thing about the new dnd movie is it's really good but it's even better when you're sitting between two boys who care too much because my little brother (13, autistic about monsters and magic) would tell me something really cool and then my older brother (20, film snob) would mutter something about the movie being really really weird

my little brother, furiously tugging on my sleeve: those are displacer beasts they can make illusions that make them appear closer or further

my older brother, squinting at the screen: is that a venus flytrap panther

i need everyone to understand that my older brother also plays dnd and has autism, he's just not autistic about dnd.

caving as an extreme sport is sooo unfathomable to me why are u as a creature of the daylight doing that. were u born without the dread in ur bones or something

come 9 year olds let us sleep in the hell fissures where time goes to suffocate

[image id: tags reading #i used to teach spelunking to 9 year olds it's (caps) so (end caps) trust me #the (caps) power (end caps) of a good cave nap. like tight corner cold mud you get knocked out and feel like you slept 8h in 15m #the time dilation of being in a cave is the unsetling part. you are in there for what feels like 15 minutes and it's been 6 hours /end id]
