The notion that Mark Millar, who is admittedly PR machine for his work, is anything but lovely to his fans is nonsense. Case in point, he did a talk in Glasgow Film Theatre years back, afterwards he was incredibly encouraging to young female readers, bigging up Scott Pilgrim, and he also came and sat and chatted with a group I found myself in for hours.
