when i was a kid my mom recorded a video of me lip syncing to "keep it simple" by cobra starship and posted the video on youtube and Gabe Saporta (lead singer of cobra starship) inbedded the video on a post on his myspace and it got thousands of views only for my mom to lose access to the account she posted it on during google's merging of google and youtube accounts. the video is lost. possibly forever. we cant find it and i doubt anyone saved the video before her account and videos were deleted. so yeah. digital footprint or whatever but also the internet is rotting. your favorite videos are not safe. save them now before you lose them.

They're specifically mocking the kind of D&D 5e player who wants to treat 5e as a universal system, and the way they act when they try to use D&D for a concept that doesn't make sense to use D&D for and people suggest them to check out other games that already do that concept. Hence why he's acting the same way about D&D.
How do you, like, make tumblr only show *new* posts, and not the same recommended posts 30 times?
That whole "there's a rich oral tradition around D&D and half of knowing how to play D&D is being familiar with said tradition" part of the hobby sucks, mostly because it ends up elevating dysfunctional group dynamics and bad play practices, but also like have you seen the average D&D meme page, their memes fucking suck ass
