our chicken oven at work finally died today (it’s like 14 years old) in the middle of a cook and obviously we couldn’t sell the chickens and as we were throwing them out one customer said “oh, no, don’t throw them out! my birds will love them! oh, the magpies will be so happy!” and there’s a lot to unpack there considering it was about 16 chickens and magpies are wild birds, not kept as pets
