Pantanal calls for help

Against the government, which has done little or almost nothing to contain the fires in the Brazil’s Midwest, several ONGs are working to rescue animals and helping the affected population.

A task force coordinated by the Fire Committee (a collegiate group that brings together several government institutions, the third sector and private initiative) set up an Emergency Service for Wild Animals - PAEAS Pantanal to receive donations.

The group also created a “virtual cow” (https://voaa.me/vaquinha-pantanal) with the objective of raising money to finance actions that aim to help care for animals that lost their habitat due to fire. The campaign has already raised more than R $ 334 thousand - little more than the goal of R $ 300 thousand.

Learn about other actions below and learn how to help the population and ONGs that preserve the fauna, flora and diversity of the Pantanal:

AMPARA Animal The ONG created a campaign to raise funds for animals that are being rescued from burning in the Pantanal, which have occurred since July. AMPARA Animal is also recruiting veterinarians to compose a team of volunteers in the region. The Pantanal em Chamas campaign takes place on a crowdfunding website. To access it, click here.
