I had to reblog this

You’re not a slut if you like fucking with different guys. You’re not stupid if your grades are bad. You’re not ugly because of your imperfections. You’re not a hoe if you like to wear permissive clothes. You’re not less of a boy if you like to wear makeup or don’t care about sports. You’re not prudish because you don’t want to send nudes or fuck. You’re not a nerd if you like reading more than partying. You’re not unbeautiful because you think there’re a lot of people looking better than you. You’re not a cry baby if you like to talk about your feelings. You’re not mean if you tell the truth. You’re not depressive just because you like wearing black clothes. You’re not disrespectful because of not giving a fuck. You don’t have a bad life because of a few bad days. You’re not worth less because of your race, religion, background, ethnicity, skin color. You’re great just the way you’re. You’re loved.

It doesn’t make sense to call ourselves ugly, because we don’t really see ourselves. We don’t watch ourselves sleeping in bed, curled up and silent with chests rising and falling with our own rhythm. We don’t see ourselves reading a book, eyes fluttering and glowing. You don’t see yourself looking at someone with love and care inside your heart. There’s no mirror in your way when you’re laughing and smiling and happiness is leaking out of you. You would know exactly how bright and beautiful you are if you saw yourself in the moments where you are truly yourself.

There’s so much more to life than finding someone who will want you, or being sad over someone who doesn’t. There’s a lot of wonderful time to be spent discovering yourself without hoping someone will fall in love with you along the way, and it doesn’t need to be painful or empty. You need to fill yourself up with love. Not anyone else. Become a whole being on your own. Go on adventures, fall asleep in the woods with friends, wander around the city at night, sit in a coffee shop on your own, write on bathroom stalls, leave notes in library books, dress up for yourself, give to others, smile a lot. Do all things with love, but don’t romanticize life like you can’t survive without it. Live for yourself and be happy on your own. It isn’t any less beautiful, I promise.
