I’m glad they were never any more than friends. Asuka may have had a crush on him, I will begrudgingly accept that that was true at some point in the series, but he didn’t ever return those feelings. He saw her as a good friend and great duelist and she was satisfied with that. It’s nice. More male female friendships please!
Fubuki Tenjoin is definitely a yugioh character and you can tell because of the frequency with which he willingly puts on and allows himself to be temporarily possessed by the evil cursed artifact that stole entire years of his life.

He is soft and sweet and polite and loves grotesque death and doll themed monsters, the occult, tabletop RPGs, and graduating high school despite the evil spirit possessing his body that gives him constant rolling blackouts. We have more than one version of his back story, he writes letters to his dead sister, he has like 5 canonical eye colors, he built an entire museum display miniature at the behest or inspiration of the voice in his head, and he possibly has owned a giant bad ass trenchcoat to go with all his teal button ups and sweaters.

I don't jive with HCs that position Yami Bakura or Atem as attenuated from the physical ramifications of the bodies they inhabit. I am firmly in the camp of The Mind Is A Plaything. I don't think bodily maintenance occurs to them as much, since they're not used to doing it, but that doesn't mean there's no consequences; it's more like that if Yugi skips breakfast then Atem will be cranky all morning, but he will not be able to put a finger on why, nor will he realize that a sandwich would solve his problem until Yugi tells him. But I do think that pain is pain, and tired is tired, and shared physical consequences are one of the most interesting parts of this whole ordeal.
