THE DAY OF LANGUAGES!!!

This 7th of May, 2024, we use our own language again!

  • If your language, native or not, is something other than English, on May 7th you can speak that language all day!
  • You’ll blog in your chosen language(s) all day: text posts, replies, tags (except triggers and organizational tags).
  • Regardless of what language people choose to speak to you, you can answer in your own.
  • Non-verbal, non-written languages (like sign language, dialects, otherwise non-written languages) are more than welcome! See my FAQ for tips
  • English native speakers can participate in any other language they're studying/have studied/know.
  • The tag is gonna be #Speak Your Language Day or #spyld for short.

Please submit me some language facts for me to share on this day <3

One of my favorite moments in the show is when Cooper and Lucy come across that ghoul who is slowly turning feral. I can't recall his name, but he keeps repeating his name over and over again. But at one point, he is talking with Lucy and I don't remember what they're talking about but he starts to reminiscence about something happy ... a sweet memory ... and it's then that Cooper shoots him. Lucy gets mad at him, but if you're familiar with the games then you know what was happening and you know that Cooper had to kill him. And I just think there's something so beautiful in that moment, because to Lucy it comes across as callous and cruel but in actuality ... it's a kind and compassionate merciful act. Cooper kills him before he goes feral, he kills him when he isn't expecting it, and he let's his last thought be a happy one and how many happy moments are there in the apocalypse? It's just such a lovely moment that is deeply characterizing of the type of man he is, because he is a good man who has become someone else after 200 years in this wasteland but deep down .... he is still that good man. On some level anyway.

Cooper's first reaction to Lucy "At first glance, your treatment of this man appears unfair, and I'm obligated to intervene." "Huh."

when I see something dated 2019 I think “oh that’s not too long ago” and then I remember that 2019 was not only five years ago but those five years have somehow contained several lifetimes
