Warning: REAL
Every squad got the:

People are going after another Asian artist on Twitter who drew Nessa in a lighter palette and I just want to say that the rabid freaks who attack artists over something so inconsequential are doing more to harm race relations than anyone else has during these past five years. These people gang up on these artists and then wonder why their favorite character doesn’t have that much fan-art, and instead claim it’s “Muh racism”. Or they scream that anyone who isn’t dark skinned shouldn’t be drawing dark-skinned characters and then cry about “not having enough representation in media”.
They all read about the Civil Rights era and they so desperately want to pretend they can be great like that so they make this conflict.
It's wrong the way some people treated Japanese artists in all this drama, but this doesn't justify the blatant racism and whitewashed fanart they made over it, they legit looked like 4chan trolls. Two wrongs don't make one right, both sides were awful.
in my head the front piece of her skirt is longer but i ain’t got all day. anyway we love paisley in this house, ma’am.
Sooo I made something...
When I first saw Dori I found it unnecessary that she was so pale, so I decided to change her skin tones to more common skin tones that you'd find in the middle east!
Not that middle eastern people can't be pale, I just liked to imagine it like that, and it would be better if she was darker to bring more representation, diversity and accuracy :)
Hello please reblog this if you’re okay with people sending you random asks to get to know you better

The way SOME people treated Japanese artists is really embarrassing, but most people ( At least from what I saw ) were either questioning why she was so light or trying to explain ( or understand ) color theory, and also find better ways to draw lighting and pastel tones without erasing darker skin. But some people used that situation to draw blatant racist and whitewashed fanart of Nessa just to make people -understandbly- mad over it, not only they got away because it’s “humorous” but they also got praised over it. Both sides handled the situation very wrong, but the ones that did white Nessa stuff were just… Very low.
I thought back and forth on whether I was gonna reblog this (not in a bad way), but ultimately I will because I’m very thankful for your level-headed response.
I was just super SUPER pissed when I kept seeing those artists attacked and made this. And my sympathy at that point had run more dry than a desert. But that definitely shouldn’t overlook the fact that the response was absolutely not warranted either. It’s a vicious cycle of assholes.
Fr thought, that whole drama just showed to everyone that spreading hate at each other won't solve anything at all, and sadly this happens a lot on Twitter, especially since it's a site that LOTS of people log in everyday. I'm happy that other social medias are far more educated and responsible when it comes to discussing things like racism, thought it's not every time, but hey at least it happens lol. Thanks for the opportunity, you're a really cool person.

Being LGBT+ and Indigenous at the same time can feel very lonely and isolating at times, people tend to forget we are here and when we’re remembered it’s often as an afterthought. It can be difficult to find more people you can relate to, especially because the community can sometimes feel unsafe or unwelcoming due to racism
As lonely as it can be and as unwelcoming the community can feel, you are, and always will be, important and loved and appreciated members in the community ♥
