A heads-up for anyone who uses Adobe Photoshop and is sensitive to flashing lights (seizures, migraines, etc.): about a week ago there was an update that for some users (including me) means that when you open any file, the whole canvas rapidly flashes black and white until you close the file.

If this could hurt you, please be careful, and maybe have someone else open a file first to see if your version has this glitch! It seems to be affecting mostly older computers. I'm still looking into how to fix it.

Hey I’m nobody and this is nothing to anyone, but It would mean the entire world to me if anybody who reads this was able to blow a little air in the sails of my son’s classroom fundraiser. The Little Warriors Childcare Center is in need of new books and learning materials to aid in its mission of providing comprehensive pre-k class preparedness courses. This is a small chain of black-owned independent childcare centers that have been erected within our community in calculated response to the lack of pre-k certified facilities for minority students, and the steep hurdles directed towards equality within minority education complemented by an obscenely long waiting list for income-based childcare placement. The waiting list has evolved into a lottery and, most minority students from low-income households are financially unable to send their toddlers to a pre-k facility that SHOULD be accessible so that all public school kids begin with an equal mental toolset. Without proper funding this can not be ameliorated I am hopeful that we will be able to stress the importance of education by placing real value behind a very greatly undervalued resource and raise enough money to lay the proper foundation for burgeoning minds to hoist anchor and cast sail alongside their peers.   If you can donate and if not please  share.

While first world countries are hoarding vaccines, having doses for populations many times their size, third world countries can’t get any because pharma companies want to sell to the first world countries first. Even then, first world countries will receive them first. While rich countries recover from COVID, they will forget about the pandemic while many other countries live the absolute worst moment of the pandemic without being able to vaccinate their population.

Watch also when some first world countries finish vaccinating their populations, they will turn to third world countries and “donate” or sell surplus vaccines. Also starving yourself all day will not work because sometimes it can take up to two or three days for something to move through you.

Just eat a bunch of fiber and use the bathroom at least an hour or two before your booty call if you can. If you hate eating fiber just get yourself some fiber pills to take with meals. If you eat enough fiber the section after the colon should remain relatively clean on its own. Just wash the outside part. Not your insides. Those clean themselves.

Yes! It dries out your colon and makes you more susceptible to micro-tears in your anal walls and makes it more likely that you’ll get constipated. There’s also a small but real chance that you could get a perforated bowel which is a medical emergency. It also washes away a natural layer of mucus in there which, while gross, is necessary.

Doing it once in a long while is probably fine but it’s not necessary unless you’re doing something super intense that goes up into your colon and you’re not willing to clean up afterwards.

If you absolutely must, use clean douching equipment and lukewarm water with a teaspoon of salt per cup of water dissolved in it. The salt mixed in will keep the water from dehydrating you because yeah, that’s another risk of douching. Your body has a very specific balance of salt it wants and plain water will sap away some of that.

Also remember to use lube, kids! It reduces your risk of getting an STD or a minor injury!

Douching is also bad for vaginas for anyone on this thread with those. They are self-cleaning as well and putting soap up there can mess with your ph balance and increase your risk of yeast infections. Just take a piss before and after sex to avoid a UTI and let your parts take care of themselves.

I do not believe the Trans ERG or the terminated employee (she’s fighting it) have asked that people boycott the company or step away from their accounts. That’s likely on the escalation chart but its not there yet. Instead VOICE YOUR SUPPORT. Tweet at Netflix. Send (polite) emails. Declare solidarity. If they opt to go on strike donate to the strike funds.

Sympathy strikes and boycotts can be great but only at the request of organizers. A favorite tactic of management is to say “oh you secretly organized this sympathy action you just want to hurt the company.” Don’t give them that talking point until the organizers are ready.

Can I just say how much I love the implications here? Harley and Ivy are known public figures. People know who they are, and recognize them. And this kid knows that, despite being violent criminals, they’re safe enough to go to for protection. Ivy is dead certain that the Batfamily will be okay with them intervening to protect a kid. That has some intersting implications - either she knows damn well where the lines lie and that this is overriding enough to get her a pass, or (more likely, given the first bit) this has come up before.

I'm at a point again where I need to urgently ask for financial help. Links to donate are at the bottom of the post.

Explanation:

I have a history of housing insecurity (past homelessness) and I generally go hungry a lot (especially right now) because I cannot afford food. I also financially support my partner as best as I can through begging. I also have an eating disorder (ARFID) that makes food a higher expense to make up for lost nutrients, because there are only specific foods I can eat. ARFID isn't a choice, has little to no awareness, and there are no free treatment options that I know of. I frequently deal with iron deficiency anemia as part of it. On top of this, I'm trying to fundraise for tuition (around $5k CAD immediately to be able to go back ASAP, w/ future costs pending), a portable laundry machine (around $200-300), and to pay off outstanding student debt from the first time I went to school as a teenager (>$20k, though I am allowed to go back on loans again if I make a downpayment on the interest, which means a min payment of $500ish). I initially went to university at 17, and had to drop out (after being on academic probation) at 18 due to homelessness, family death and estrangement. I'm currently 26 and went back to school briefly for the Winter 2020 semester, before everything shut down. Prior to the pandemic, I had a 98% average in all of my classes. Going back to school was immensely gratifying for me for the time I did it in. It gave me a huge sense of direction, purpose, and something to do that I was passionate about, in ways I couldn't experience before because I was homeless. I desperately want to go back full-time, but I'm still paying off last semester's tuition. I cannot currently work the majority of entry-level jobs because I am physically disabled in ways that most jobs of that variety do not account for accommodations for. (Using a rollator wouldn't really work out well in a McDonald's kitchen, and jobs often like to sneak in ableist criteria like, "must be able to lift up to 50 lbs" - which I can't do.) That said, I hope people who regularly read this blog know and understand the degree of effort and expertise I put into helping you all, and maybe some who are able to would like to forward a few dollars as a tip or something.

Antiretroviral therapy when used correctly can cause the user’s “viral load” (your viral load is how much of the virus is in your bloodstream), to drop because the medicine prevents HIV from creating copies of itself.

Regular blood tests are done to monitor your viral load, and after taking the medication long enough, it can drop so low that it becomes “durably undetectable”. This means that the HIV virus in you has become so miniscule that it can’t be detected, and by extension can’t be transmitted either. It’s important to note that in order to be considered durable undetectable, you MUST test as undetectable for at least 6 months after testing as undetectable for the first time.

Also very important, being durably undetectable does NOT mean that you’re cured or that the virus is gone, not by a longshot. The HIV virus is still very much there, but instead of being active, it’s gone dormant in a small number of cells called “viral reservoirs”. This why it’s EXTREMELY important that even after achieving durably undetectable status, you continue to take your Antiretroviral medications correctly. Because if you stop, the HIV virus will reemerge from the viral reservoirs and pick up right where it left off in creating copies of itself, and you will have to start all over again if you want to become durably undetectable again.

This is great advice for people struggling with or know someone who has HIV.

Supporting aroallos requires you to be sex positive

I might as well reblog this cause I’m seeing a few non-aroallos saying that showing an aroallo character having casual sex is bad representation. It’s not. Treating casual sex as an inherently bad thing is sex negative and leads to arophobia against aroallos.

Aroallos are not doing anything wrong if they decide to have casual sex.

Portraying an aroallo having casual sex is not a bad thing unless you paint the aroallo as dirty and predatory for it.
