She was afraid to be naked, even to herself she avoided mirrors the way she dodged the consequences of her mistakes, or closure. She didn’t love her figure, how both feeble and strong it seemed, how the proportions were out of place and it weighed her down with insecurities. She never loved exposing the curves she learnt to dislike since it only reminded her of perfect imperfections. She told herself she was alright, that she didn’t have to be so hard on herself, but society made her believe that the scale only considers this certain number as beautiful, and it dried her self-esteem out, for she was never the right mixture to be categorized as someone perfect. But with you, her clothes came off naturally and showed you the skin saturated of ink from tattoos of every judgement she slapped her self which your hand erased in gentle strokes as if you were painting the morning, kissing it as if it was the perfect kind of wine in a glass. She wasn’t afraid to show you everything she didn’t love about herself, because she knew, you’d still love her. And you gave her what she needed; more than the words beautiful or perfect, because you told her she was more than those words. Despite all of that, you accepted her, and only loved her more.

She gave you everything, and you took your hint of guilt and left behind a goodbye and a broken girl.

If I reply with “oh” I either don’t give a fuck or I feel like i’ve been punched in the throat

You don’t know pain until you are staring at the mirror with tears streaming down your face, begging yourself to just hold on and be strong.
