a lot of s/nape defenders like to go on and on about their tragic past and about how that makes them able to relate to s/nape, and that’s all fine and dandy, good for you. you have a character you can relate too, great!!!! good for you!!!! that’s just fricking lovely!!!
but!!! they love to go on about how the people who don’t like s/nape are young and don’t have life experiences but… maybe, just MAYBE, when i was younger than i am now, i had a teacher who made me feel small, and pushed me around, and picked on me, and publicly humiliated me without punishment or remorse. sure, they were a fine teacher, but they created a negative environment where children were constantly in a state of anxiety and fear over what the person they were supposed to be looking up to was going to do next.
and so brushing off the way s/nape obviously made students fear him, created an environment of a classroom of students who wanted to openly rebel against him… is blaming the students, blaming the people who aren’t in control, who are in the victim role.
it’s just so hilarious to me, that they go on and on about all of the other bullies in the series, but then when it comes to the way s/nape treats his students, it’s all fucking fine and dandy, the kids were being unruly, rude, talking out of turn, generally ignorant. they were eleven at the start of this series, and instead of treating them like they were eleven (which would include a little more compassion and some patience), s/nape shut most of them down, treated them like they were the people who had bullied him.
as if that’s right at all.
so 100%, what you said is absolutely true and it’s so hypocritical of s/nape defenders to think that treating the actions of eleven year olds as any provocation, any reason, for s/nape to treat them as he did on their very first day, is victim blaming, and also kinda why i think these people shouldn’t be allowed near children. if you’re okay with how s/nape treated these kids, and you’d be okay with any teacher treating your kid that way…. then don’t go near children. they deserve better.

let me be clear: people kill people, if not with guns then with knives, screwdrivers, planks of wood, or any other weapon-improvised or not-they can get. controling guns alone is not going to solve anything.

America literally has had over 300 mass shooting in the past year. That is fucking ridiculous, and before you go on about anything we are literally the only developed western nation that has had this number of deaths, even number of attacks among all other nations of similar standing. And one thing you can pick out is how weak our gun control laws are nationally compared to other western nations.
Let’s dissect Australia for a second, since you’re quite ignorant to the facts of a complete ban on guns (which yea can be argued a complete ban is unrealistic in some aspects, but for the sake or argument). After having 13 attacks in 18 years (for ref over 300 attacks so far this year in usa), through tough advocating and Prime minister that wasn’t about to change his mind on the atrocities, Australia banned fire-arms for self defense (also a lot of different types of weapons at the time). They also implemented a mandatory buy back program for any previous gun owners. Now you’d think, people such as yourself would ARE U FUCKING KIDDING ME??? BLACK MARKET ANYONE?, actually no. To this day Australia has not had any mass shootings. Yes mass killings by means of arson still happen but since then the homicide and suicide rate dropped drastically in Australia since the the convenience of of being able to hide and shoot and the amount you can kill in little time, as well as how easy it is to acquire guns. Failing to realize that guns are just easier to use, obtain, and kill with is sheer ignorance on your part.
No one is saying Australia is gun free, it isn’t but the lack of mass shooting and the murder rate going down is in direct correlation to the reduction of guns in the overall population because it is no longer available. (SOURCE)

I have realized that fighting for women’s rights has too often become synonymous with man-hating. If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop.

- the 16-year-old girl from Ohio who got raped and filmed at a party by 2 boys, while CNN reporters talked about the bright futures of the rapists as athletes. (x)
- the 94 women in Jordan who were legally married to their rapists, only in 2014. (x)
- the 8-year-old girl who was married to a man 5 times her age, and died on the day of her wedding because she suffered from bleeding and uterine rupture after intercourse. (x)
