I just want a nap

@youcantspellmisterywithoutmisery

I have so many fandoms, I literally don't remember my life before joining them. (18+)

Uselessly reminding you that these things are all canon in TOTK:

- Riju is super short for a gerudo her age, but still way taller than Link

- Link has a pet koi fish (or multipul depending on how many pools you put in your dream home)

- Being able to name the piss horse golden horse implies that Zelda had not given it a name yet. Perhaps because she’s a perfectionist and must think of the perfect name, or because she rescued the horse very recently before totk, but fell in love with it so quickly that she just had to have a picture of it in her house.

- The amount (and quality) of paintings done by Princess Zelda points towards her being very artistically talented, which is not something shown in botw. Perhaps this is a sign of her feeling more free and comfortable to be herself.

- Link has 8 ear piercings in total

- Link is still very short, but, it’s easier to see his muscle definition than in botw, meaning he did actually grow like a normal person just not… vertically.

- In the original Japanese text, Zelda calls the Hateno house “the house” instead of “my house” 👀

-The elemental armor headgear will allow you to dye Link’s hair at the dye shop.

- Originally, I thought Link could see the koroks in botw because he was only 17, and that koroks sorta worked like the picori, in that only kids could see them. However, he can still see them in his 20s. So, the games could be implying that he sees them because he was raised as one of them in a past life, and that part of his soul is still connected to the forest.

- The game likely takes place around 5-6 years after botw, because there are quite a lot of new child NPCs, none of which look or act young enough to be considered toddlers.

huge spoilers under the cut

i would like to add that there IS evidence to zelda being an artist in botw, just not a painter. there's sketches all over either her room or her study, i can't remember which one, but her desk is littered with them

Honestly I'm just so happy about the progression of Link and Zelda's relationship in totk from botw. It feels so natural. They've both matured, they're very much their own people with their own goals and lives and skills. They're not just the hero and princess anymore: they get to be themselves. And they get to do that together. They're making choices, and not just rolling with the path that destiny has set forth for them.

They're not the only saviors: there's the sages of course, but there's also every single person in Hyrule standing up to evil and saying no, not this time.

It feels like Hyrule is saying to them "you save the world. And while you're doing that, we'll save ourselves."

The story is grown up. From the fierce independence of adolescence to the interdependent care of adulthood. And they're doing it together: caring about people together. Saving the world together.

I really love this game y'all.

I got these vibes even from the final trailer and I'm very glad to see it carried through throughout the whole game. NPCs are much more proactive and independent (from the admittedly-low-bar we've been conditioned to expect from video games) and they're starting businesses, falling in love, organizing to defend their homes - even without your intervention. It's a world that's been growing in reflection with our protagonists.

Seen a couple posts on the dashboard lately about writing with ADHD. So, for the ADHD and neurodivergent folks who like writing but struggle sometimes… check out StimuWrite.

You can set it to make little sounds as you type (or leave them off), and emojis pop up in the corner. You can change the background, dark and light themes, set your word goal, and it gives you a percentage and total word count at the bottom. Though it’s more meant for getting a draft written up, so it doesn’t have spell check or anything like that. You’re meant to just copy and past what you write here into Google Docs or Word or Scrivener or whatever else you use and go from there. Honestly love it when I’m struggling to get words down, though. And apparently there’s an update now for StimuWrite 2?👀

Anyways, give it a try if it looks like it may help. It’s currently name-your-own-price.

Yo I just downloaded this thing and hammered out 3000 words????? Which is more than I’ve written in years????????

Hey I’ve accidentally written 20,000 words in six days.

if you’re having a bad day, here’s a cute little marching band

this actually made me cry with joy also one of them is eating noodles

It just keeps going and getting better. *^^*

Me two minutes ago: “cry with joy? an animation of cats playing instruments made someone cry with joy?”

Me now: (sobs into a tissue) “OH MY GOD THAT ONE IS PLAYING TWO RECORDERS AT THE SAME TIME” (blows nose)

CAT PARADE IS BACK

there are SO MANY cute little details in this

So I was looking for the full version of this video cause i always get sad when this one cuts off the ending and–

not only has the original creator made an HD version,

they also made a reanimated “deluxe” version! with even more cute easter eggs!

big fan of when animals creche. Love to see so many fucking babies in one place

Avatar

So a creche in ecology is a group of animals that take care of their offspring as a group. Grouping together like this can help with protection against predators, finding food, enduring the weather, and gives the parents time to "rest", as sometimes the parents will alternate who's being the primary watchers while others get to hunt by themselves for a bit, like a baby animal daycare.

But ye lions do this once cubs each a certain age. A decent amount of birds do it (for example: flamingos and a lot of penguin, duck, and goose species). Gharials (a type of South Asian crocodilian) form creches with hundreds of babies from multiple nests (they lay under 100 eggs each and sometimes as few as 20). Feral hogs tend to form groups of mothers and young like this, and I saw 3 sows and like 15+ tiny babies the other day and they were so cute

But ye that's how you get pictures like these
