Not long ago somebody asked me my opinion on casual sex and I said that some ppl aren’t built for it on an emotional level but do it anyway and feel used.

I’d like to add that casual sex is just plain dangerous for women. Morally, who cares? I’m not into purity, saving yourself for marriage, or any of that. I firmly believe people should have sex when they feel like having sex in a consensual situation.

However, I would feel like I’m doing a disservice to any young women considering casual sex if I didn’t say that shit is potentially dangerous.

Out of all the men in the world, a lot of them are manipulators if not actual rapists. You have the violent rapists who are the minority but then you have the ones who will coyly try to make you wasted to lower your defenses, you have the ones where you consent to one thing and they take your defenseless during the act to force you into something you did not sign up for. Whether that is removing a condom, letting another man or men into the room, doing a sex act you’re not comfortable with, recording it and later disseminating it. This stuff is sooooo common!

And I’m not even gonna get into the ones who will say what you want to hear to get you to have sex. And then rescind it immediately afterwards.

Casual sex is physically and it is emotionally dangerous for women. Period. Any woman who has lived on a college campus knows this either firsthand or thru the experiences of their friends.

You don’t know what kind of man you’re dealing with if you know little about him, if you haven’t spent time with him. Even if you feel you do know him, you’re still at risk because some men are great actors. But when you don’t know him you really have zero idea what you’re getting yourself into.

Am I saying don’t have casual sex? No. I am saying know the risks. Really understand the risks. Because it is a very dangerous world for women and sexual exploitation is as serious as it is common. Don’t think it won’t happen to you.

This is why so many guys gravitate towards inexperienced women, because women who have been around the block and seen the bullshit are less likely to put up with it. They know the looks and words of a serial user or abuser. They know to be suspicious of free drinks and seemingly generous offers from men they barely know. They are much better at assessing whether this man has any sincere intentions whatsoever, or whether he’s throwing flattery around intending to fuck the first woman who is receptive, and pull whatever dirty tricks he can before disappearing.

Once you’ve been there and done that, it really isn’t fun anymore.

Y’all, please know what you’re getting yourself into. I know some ppl on social media try to paint casual sex or “being a hoe” as a form of ~sexual liberation~ and ~taking ownership of your sexuality~ it’s true and I support it. But it’s not that great once you start to partake in that stuff and realize how shitty cis men are.

If you DO get stuck in a bad situation with someone with bad intentions, that’s all their fault, never yours. It happens so often and to so many smart people because these creeps deliberately make it as difficult as possible to understand what’s happening in time to stop it, they deliberately make it hard to say no and that’s on them. That said please be suspicious of anyone who makes you feel like saying no or going slower is rude or would hurt their feelings. Be suspicious of anyone who comes on strong trying to dazzle you with lots of compliments or gifts etc when you don’t know them. Anytime anybody responds to your indecisiveness by somehow getting you to do what they want, even if they seem really nice, be suspicious. If you don’t want to get up and stop talking to them at least go as slow as possible. Stick to your “no’s" even the small petty ones. How they react when you don’t give in will give you some clues about this person’s intentions.

Before you have casual sex or any sex at all really, figure out how far you’re comfortable going and anytime you’re about to go farther than that, stop and check in with yourself and try to figure out if you’re really ready to do this or if you’re trying to make the other person happy or if they made you feel like what you wanted wasn’t enough. A good partner won’t want to do more than you’re ready to do, even if they’d like the more they’d rather not make you feel rushed.

And anytime you’re having sex with someone you don’t know well enough to safely trust, part of you needs to stay out of the moment. Part of you needs to be paying attention to whether your boundaries are being respected, whether you feel safe, whether you have STI protection, etc.

It’s awful that this is a consideration, but since it is, since you can’t trust strangers to be respectful in sexual contexts, do what you can to keep aware of the situation.

To think…it all started with a simple message, and you happened to live 5 minutes from me. Today makes the day 5/28/2016 that I proposed, to the beautiful @dedicationsthekey. I love you. You said you loved the journey, so I solidified it. Let get this life together, officially started.

So update, 3 year anniversary is next month (November 12) and in about 5-6 months we’re getting Married! Sheeeshhhhhh. Time flies I tell you…

No, see, this scene is just amazing. The costume department deserves so many kudos for this, it’s unreal, especially given the fact that they pulled off Peggy pretty much flawlessly.

1) Her hair is completely wrong for the 40’s. No professional/working woman  would have her hair loose like that. Since they’re trying to pass this off as a military hospital, Steve would know that she would at least have her hair carefully pulled back, if maybe not in the elaborate coiffures that would have been popular.

2) Her tie? Too wide, too long. That’s a man’s tie, not a woman’s. They did, however, get the knot correct as far as I can see - that looks like a Windsor.

3) That. Bra. There is so much clashing between that bra and what Steve would expect (remember, he worked with a bunch of women for a long time) that it has to be intentional. She’s wearing a foam cup, which would have been unheard of back then. It’s also an exceptionally old or ill-fitting bra - why else can you see the tops of the cups? No woman would have been caught dead with misbehaving lingerie like that back then, and the soft satin cups of 40’s lingerie made it nearly impossible anyway. Her breasts are also sitting at a much lower angle than would be acceptable in the 40’s.

Look at his eyes. He knows by the time he gets to her hair that something is very, very wrong.

There’s no knowing what kind of condition Steve’s in, or what kind of person he really is, after decades of nostalgia blur the reality and the long years in the ice (after a plane crash and a shitload of radiation) do their work. (Pre-crash Steve is in lots of files, I’m sure. Nick Fury does not trust files.) So Fury instructs his people to build a stage, and makes sure that the right people put up some of the wrong cues.

Maybe the real Steve’s a dick, or just an above-average jock; maybe he had a knack for hanging out with real talent. Maybe he hit his head too hard on the landing and he’s not gonna be Captain anymore. On the flipside, if he really is smart, then putting him in a standard, modern hospital room and telling him the truth is going to have him clamming up and refusing to believe a goddamn thing he hears for a really long time.

The real question here is, how long it does it take for the man, the myth, the legend to notice? What does he do about it? How long does he wait to get his bearings, confirm his suspicions, and gather information before attempting busting out?

Turns out the answer’s about forty-five seconds.

Also please note the position of her arm on his. It’s not on the elbow but just above it. That is will be important for the submission. The grip on her hand is important as well. It looks like she is using a monkey grip where the thumb stays with the fingers of the hand instead of wrapping around. It protects your thumb from being broken and can be a stronger grip in general.
