el wearing rollerskates pushing max in her wheelchair down a hill as lucas screams that they're going too fast in the background
season 5 better end with them giving me the party going to prom
- gimme will trying to teach el how to slow dance right before they have to leave as jonathan and joyce fuse over them and their clothes and hopper watches them fondly from the side
- gimme eddie and steve helping dustin get ready, arguing over how dustin’s hair should look as dustin just rolls his eyes and tells them he can do it himself now
- gimme mike being embarrassed and annoyed when his mom is trying to just take pictures of him but the second his friends get to his house and they’re all taking pictures together he’s smiling and laughing the whole time
- gimme robin and max going over to wheeler’s house early so nancy can help max with her hair and makeup as robin helps mike with his tie
- gimme lucas being speechless when he first sees max and erica immediately making fun of him for it
- gimme the whole party taking a bunch of super cheesy prom pictures together and doing stupid poses cause they’re kids and can just be stupid together
- gimme me all the parents gushing over them talking about how grown up they are and how little they used to be and what happened to those little kids and they’re basically adults now where does the time go
- gimme everyone dancing really badly together at prom, max stepping on lucas’ feet when slow dancing, dustin teaching el the robot, max and el dancing together sayin it’s because they’re too good for any of boys anyways, etc.
- gimme suzie somehow showing up because the party wanted to surprised dustin cause he was sad they couldn’t go to prom together.
- gimme lucas asking the DJ to play any kate bush song because he knows she’s max’s favorite artist
- gimme mike asking will if they can talk and pulling him out into an empty hallway where they can still kinda hear the music and asking will if he wants to dance with him
- gimme all of them going back to the wheeler’s afterwards for a sleepover and sitting in the basement giggling in their fancy clothes and joking around like nothing bad ever happened
- gimme the last shot of the show being all of them humbled together sleeping while the goonies or something is playing on the tv and they all just all happy and content
It is my biggest pet peeve when (mostly) straight people try to make queer people feel guilty for shipping two same gender characters together or say it's problematic to ship them, so I've made a little list debunking their ideas. I'll be talking a lot about Byler but this also applies to Elmax, Ronance, Steddie and queer ships in general.
"Why can't people be friends anymore?" Why can't a guy and a girl be friends either? Why aren't you saying this about Chrissy and Eddie shippers? Unless the issue is that they're gay.
"You're assuming Will is gay based on stereotypes!" Of course, the horrible stereotype that gay guys like men but not women, how problematic of me.
"You're fetishizing children!" No one says this about M*leven shippers. The fact that you view a queer relationship as inherently sexual and adult is sexualising young people much more than shipping Will and Mike does.
"Men will be scared to be affectionate to their friends in real life in case people think that they're gay!" First of all, I doubt some straight guy is going to stop hanging out with his friend because some random person on the internet drew Steddie fanart. And second of all, why are we treating straight men's fear of being perceived as gay as a perfectly valid and normal fear? (I elaborate a bit on this point in the reblogs)
"Why is it okay to say Mike Wheeler is gay but not say Robin is straight? You're erasing his sexuality!" First of all, when did Mike say he's straight? Sure he said he loves Eleven (which I doubt he does anyways) but bi people exist. Plus, there are so many straight characters and ships out there. Straight people don't look up lists of shows with canonical queer representation or watch a show because it has a straight girl in it. Lesbians like myself look up to characters like Robin and they are meaningful to them. No straight person feels seen in their heterosexuality because of Mike Wheeler. The only exception in my opinion is when people headcanon straight characters who are dating trans people as bi like Tao from Heartstopper because that comes off as transphobic.
"They're too young to know that they're gay and you're forcing a sexuality on them." I've known I'm gay since I was eleven or twelve which is the age they are in S1. And yet again, why aren't you saying this about straight people! Everyone accepted that Dustin and Lucas liked Max in S2. Yet Will is too young to know who he likes... Interesting.
"Grown adults wanting two young boys to kiss each other is pretty weird." The issue with this is again the hypocrisy. Adult M*leven shippers don't get told this. Mike kissed Eleven in S1 and it was completely cute and non-sexual because they are children so of course it isn't sexual. Hell they even made out when they were 13 and no one complained. Why would that be any different if he kissed Mike instead of Will? Yet again, people view queer people as being inherently sexual but queer people get cute little crushes or want to kiss people sometimes too. It's not a sexual thing. It's the exact same as a straight person doing it.
Anyways that's my rant done. It just annoys me when half of their arguements saying why it's wrong to ship these characters are just masked homophobia, even if the person saying it doesn't realize. Feel free to add more to this in the reblogs, this is just what I've seen.
and if i said the 'running up that hill' scene was the best moment in all of stranger things.....
You should do an fleurmione teacher-student au (Fleur the teacher, hermione student)
Love your stories! 🥰
Okay, this is super late (sorry anon!) and not written out properly nor even strictly teacher-student, but here is what I have for you in semi-bullet list format. I hope you like it.
Professor Granger and Professor Delacour both teach at the same university and are loved by their students
Professor Granger is the youngest teaching staff member in the mathematics department. Known to be strict but passionate, her way of teaching makes even the most quantitatively-adverse students enjoy her courses. Students who take her class know that they are going to suffer, and suffer hard, but they’re going to enjoy it. She’s infamous for having a tabby cat named Vector as her TA. People say she’s on course to win either a Fields Medal or a Nobel prize in physics (or both!) for her contributions in random processes and topological phase transitions.
Professor Delacour is a visiting professor from France. She teaches comparative literature with a specialty in works created during the French Renaissance. This is only her second year teaching here and despite that, she’s already earned herself quite a reputation amongst the students. Her classes are often held early in the morning and yet enrollment is highly competitive, with the waitlist being pages and pages long. Able to speak five different languages including English, French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese, there is no questioning her merit as an outstanding teacher. There’s also no denying her impeccable style (or that half the student body has a notable crush on her.)
There is no real reason for these two professors to interact, ever.
And as a note, the university is relatively small, meaning the rumor hill is intense. News of Lockhart’s tenure termination was known amongst the students well before the official decision ever reached the official review board. (Good riddance. He was a terrible professor.)
So when Professor Granger shows up in a faded MIT sweater and khakis Monday morning in the back of Professor Delacour’s Poetry in Resistance class, people notice.
And they talk.
Since when has Professor Granger – Professor “the entire world can be explained by data and numbers” – shown any interest in poetry? But when Professor Delacour struts in wearing a long grey checkered blazer over a black turtleneck and high-waisted pants held up by a belt, they get it.
empowerment
- the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights.
Reblog if you think asexuality is a legitimate sexuality.
I’m trying to prove something.
Reblog if your blog is a safe place for asexuals.
Okay let’s get one thing clear.
You are %100 percent allowed to not like, and even hate a queer ship.
Maybe you think they’re toxic, maybe you think they wouldn’t work as a couple, maybe you think they’re better off with someone else, maybe you like them as friends, maybe you like that characters better as single, or maybe you just simply don’t see it. They’re all completely valid reasons.
However, if your reasoning for not liking that ship is “omg no! they’re both straight”
I’m going to assume you’re homophobic.
When Harry becomes the DADA professor, kids constantly ask him for an autograph, but he refuses, saying the only thing he’ll autograph is a detention slip. Eventually, though, he starts carrying around a stack of autographed pictures of Ginny, which he gives out when people ask for an autograph. It gets really popular, so he starts mixing it up with autographs from other people, mostly Ron and Hermione. But the students love it, so he adds more. Soon he’s giving out autographs from like fifty different people, including all the teachers at Hogwarts, and a bunch of other random people like Luna, Lee Jordan, Oliver Wood, etc. He even has some fairly rare ones from Krum and Fleur. It becomes a game in Hogwarts to collect all the autographs, like chocolate frog cards. Some of them are more limited edition than others, like signatures from all the ghosts (though Harry won’t reveal how he managed to get those). George starts to offer a discount at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes (and a prize autograph from Peeves, who will only sign Bertie Bott’s scratch-and-sniff cards) to anyone who can prove they’ve collected the whole set. Harry provides him with up-to-date lists of autographs to check against. Every Hogsmeade weekend there’s a line of Hogwarts students in WWW’s Hogsmeade branch trying to get the discount.
At some point a seventh year comes up to Harry and asks for his autograph, but not as the Savior of the Wizarding World, but because they now have the autograph of every other Hogwarts teacher and want Professor Potter’s to go with them. Harry–trying not to tear up–agrees, but only in exchange for the student’s signature. He begins offering this deal to all departing seventh years, his autograph in exchange for theirs. He tells them it’s in case they ever get famous, so he can add it as a limited edition autograph, but really he keeps them all in a big binder just for himself, to remember all his students. (A couple times, though, when a students does become famous, he will contact them and ask if they’d like to be added to the game. So far no one has said no.)
When Teddy starts at Hogwarts he begins a black market autograph trade because he has access to a lot of the people Harry gets autographs from. Harry’s other three children proudly continue the trade when they get to Hogwarts. They’re all secretly aided by Ginny.
Instead y'all talk about a silver haired bitch face just because the actor is handsome.
Hey! can you do a golden era (hp) preference/headcanons of like how it would be cuddling with them? ty <3
includes: hermione granger, draco malfoy, pansy parkinson, harry potter, cho chang, ron weasley, luna lovegood, ginny weasley, fred weasley, george weasley, padma patil, parvati patil, astoria greengrass, daphne greengrass, angelina johnson, lavender brown, fleur delacour, nymphadora tonks
how i would have written the harry potter series:
(jk was too much of a coward but im not)
- harry would be bisexual and half middle eastern from his dad's side
- hermione would be black
- slytherin wouldn't be condemned as the "evil" house & hufflepuff and ravenclaw wouldnt be the irrelevant houses
- fred, george and percy weasley would be in slytherin
- dean and seamus, parvati and lavender, ginny and luna would be canon in the end of the series
- also hermione would be dating fred and ron would be dating padma
( fred wouldn't have died because i don't want him to period )
- snape wouldn't have a "redemption arc", while draco would have one plus character development by helping the golden trio in the end and facing his family
- there'd also be more focus on regulus black's story and how he was a hero in the end, somewhat parallel to draco's arc and he'd be acknowledged as the true slytherin hero
- platonic scenes of harry and ginny
- more scenes with remus and harry
- also luna would be a trans girl (we don't fuck with terfs in this household joanne)
- there would be strong friendships between the female characters, none of joanne's internalized misogyny
- harry would name his second son cedric rubeus potter bc we don't appreciate abusers <33 ( oh and neville would be the godfather )
Do you ever think that Mrs. Norris and Crookshanks had a standoff one day in front of the enitre castle and everyone is just watching these two cats, seeing who will back off first. And Prof. McGonagall is in her animagus form as refree and Hermione and Filch glaring at one another. And then Mrs. Norris backs off and Crookshanks is like "hiss-hiss bitch" and from then on Crookshanks rules the school and no one dares insult him or Hermione.
Ginny: I fucked your best friend
Ron: Harry is gay
Ginny: So is Hermione
harry, ron, hermione, ginny, luna, and neville all share 6 brain cells. hermione usually has 4 of them, and the other 2 bounce between ginny, neville, and luna. everyone is shocked when, once in a blue moon, harry or ron have even a fraction of one
