Yemen showed up

The Houthi rebels are not Yemen's government. They're rebels, and also are the cause of Yemen's current humanitarian crisis.

AP reported on 12/5/2023: UN food agency stops deliveries to millions in Yemen areas controlled by Houthi rebels.

The war in Yemen has raged for eight years between the Iran-backed Houthis and pro-government forces, backed by a coalition of Gulf Arab states. The Houthis swept down from the mountains in 2014, seized much of northern Yemen and the country’s capital, Sanaa, and forced the internationally recognized government to flee into exile to Saudi Arabia. Since then, more than 150,000 people have been killed by the violence and 3 million have been displaced.

Saying:

As they are going through one of the worst humanitarian crisis' ever

Is wildly misleading. The cause of the humanitarian crisis (the Houthi rebels) are who is threatening the ships. Again, the people who are causing the crisis in Yemen are the ones people are claiming are the Yemeni people risking it all during a crisis. This is misleading, because it should be clear that the people "risking it all" are actually a rebel group who has caused a horrific civil war in Yemen.

Due to their resilience, puppets at the UN

The UN food program is not being halted due to Houthi support of Hamas, or Houthi threats to any ships. This decision comes after a year of negotiations.

Article above begins by saying:

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The United Nations food agency said Tuesday it is stopping food distribution in areas of war-torn Yemen controlled by the Houthi rebels, a move that will impact millions of people.
The World Food Program said the “pause” was driven by limited funding and the lack of agreement with the rebel authorities on downscaling the program to match the agency’s resources.
“This difficult decision, made in consultation with donors, comes after nearly a year of negotiations, during which no agreement was reached to reduce the number of people served from 9.5 million to 6.5 million,” WFP said in a statement.

And:

U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric said WFP has tried unsuccessfully “to establish a system that is safe and accountable for the aid going through” to the rebel-held areas.

Importantly:

The Rome-based U.N. agency said it will continue its other programs, such as nutrition and school feeding projects, to limit the impact of the pause in food distributions. In government-controlled areas of Yemen, WFP said general food distribution will continue “with a heightened focus on the most vulnerable families.”

Meaning the Houthi rebels were unwilling to guarantee the safety of aid deliveries and an accountability system to ensure aid would be delivered to Yemeni people in need. A year of negotiations to try and make this happen fell through. In places still controlled by the actual Yemen government, the UN says food distribution will continue. Presumably because they can guarantee it.

Meaning that no, the UN is not punishing Yemeni people for supporting Palestinians. This decision isn't even made because the Houthis are supporting Hamas (both backed by Iran). It has nothing to do with that.

The Houthis could help prevent Yemen from starving. They are choosing not to because they're waging a civil war.

Qatari owned Al-Jazeera also reported this:

WFP suspends food distribution in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen

Subheading: UN agency pauses general food distribution in north Yemen due to limited funding and disagreements with the group.

That's not to say you shouldn't support Yemen! You absolutely should! But this isn't the UN punishing Yemen for "standing up for Palestine" and it's also relevant that the reason why Yemen is in a humanitarian crisis is in large part because of the Houthi rebels. The Yemeni people are suffering because the Houthis are making them suffer, not because of support for Palestine.

Yemen barely has a functioning government at this point. They aren't supporting or condemning Palestine as far as I know, because they are working on controlling an insane hate group that is actively killing their citizens.

Do not platform the Houthis. The Houthis are the bad guys. If you give a damn about Yemeni citizens (and not just hating Israel), you would not be cheering for these maniacs.
