Shhh, I'm Counting.

@yarnaddiction / yarnaddiction.tumblr.com

1991. Too Many Crafts. Expect mostly crochet, knit, and cross stitch, little bit of sewing and spinning, and whatever else I'm currently dabbling in. I forget to post my work sometimes.

One thing I love about Tumblr that wasn't a thing on Reddit is that I can just write whatever the fuck text post I want. No titles. No putting text on images. No algorithms or karma. Just fuckin splatter your mind onto the screen and people will see it. Like god intended.

It's not and we like it that way next question

Listen I am not going to name anyone specifically, but pattern makers need to talk to one (1) fat person before they can post their patterns online.

I am so sick of finding a cute pattern, getting all the supplies, checking my gage, and starting to knit, only to find that my sleeves are a foot longer than a normal human because the pattern maker just multiplied all their numbers by 10 when they sized it up. I can't believe I have to say this but, just because my ass is fat does not mean my arms go down to my knees???

Oh yeah half the reason I don't knit garments like sweaters/tops/skirts/pants/etc is because of the patterns available to me, only a tiny portion of them have any kind of plus sizing and of that small portion the number of patterns that are actually GOOD for people with plus sizes is even smaller. It's ridiculous.

Also I'm sorry but if it's a paid pattern I'm paying you to do the math for me, not give me the formula that you used to make the other sizes. I understand that people who don't mind doing the math probably prefer that but I don't want to do that work. I'm paying you to do it for me. I don't want to be a garment designer. Shawls maybe. But not garments, because I am terrible at geometric thinking. I can't just imagine a 3D object from a bunch of flat piece diagrams. I can't just picture how it will/should look. So for me personally, I don't want to do that math because there is a very good chance I do it wrong. I'm not paying $8 to do half the designing work and then test knit this new pattern that I just came up with that I only have the barest idea what it's supposed to look like and am just hoping it fits.

Sorry to rant on your post but I'm fat and bad at math and I would like access to cute patterns that fit me.

But you're so RIGHT, say it louder

one thing about me is i frickin love long ass youtube videos about the most random and niche topics imaginable. defunctland's investigation into who created the disney channel theme song? oh i was seated. a two hour breakdown on the lore of the entire tekken video game franchise? sign me up. a vlog about a cross-country roadtrip dining at every single rainforest cafe in the united states? i'm there.

i will never understand the insane takes against having games be more accessible

“does every game NEED to be accessible to disabled people? 🤨” yeah, actually

also the pissing and shitting over difficulty settings. just play the game on the normal difficulty dumbass it’s not for you

Same with stuff like screen shake, particle effects, flashing/lightning effects: “But the game would look terrible without them!”

Then Just.... Don’t turn them off then, dickface...

Meanwhile, *having the option to turn them off* would greatly increase the number of people able to play the game.

I need people to understand…that if you believe in paying people a livable hourly wage…most hand-knitted clothing should cost hundreds of dollars

“My grandma could make that!” YOUR GRANDMA LOVES YOU ENOUGH TO SPEND A MONTH MAKING YOU A SWEATER FOR CHRISTMAS, I HAVE NO SUCH AFFECTION

I just realized I NEVER shared this little mothman doll I made back in fall, he was a one day project and has moveable limbs plus removable neck fuzz! To weigh him down I used various small bells so he also jingles :)

We all know the Zoomies, but there's also the Cuddles, which is that time when your cat is, for a very specific time, extremely needy and absolutely has to get their fuzzy little head right up in your face and purr at top volume

And often five minutes later they're done and not interested in any more affection

But don't you dare try to get anything done while they have to be cuddled
