every time I watch a tango video I become more obsessed with decked out but not even like the gameplay or the cool build but like. the access tunnels. they feel so… access-tunnely. it makes my brain spin in circles. don’t even get me STARTED on the multicolored wool,
it’s like. there’s something beautiful about brutally utilitarian redstone. it’s the same appeal as those clear plastic electronics so you can see their guts. yes this isn’t the part of the thing that is meant to look pretty and it doesn’t look pretty it looks like the bowels of an industrial plant where it’s almost been automated out of needing human intervention but it still needs maintenance so you go in these tunnels that aren’t QUITE built for a human to inhabit them, that aren’t REALLY built for anything but machines and, rarely, maybe, a guy with a wrench. I could see the confined area warnings on this place, the “wear an oxygen mask because rusting metal steals away the oxygen and it’s not fit for human life as a result” sort of warnings. this was made for a machine, but sometimes you’re here anyway.

your thing about how machines are alive and are creatures reminded me of church organs because they're literally a system that exists within the very structure of a building and its got this very complex system of windpipes and gadgets and stuff and whatnot... church organs are also creatures :) and they're one of my fav creatures ever.
