Me, Myself, and Art

@xxhellonursexx

Drawing what I like when I like! Currently fixated on the Vampire Chronicles.

From the director of “Murders at Midnight” comes the fate-sealing event of the summer...

A favorite photograph of Armand’s. While it isn’t exactly being proudly displayed in the Dubai bedroom for obvious reasons, Armand was sufficiently pleased with it to give it a little hand-coloring back in the day.

The poster here comes from the best photo of it (at this point) with the perspective corrected, a great deal of tidy-up painting done, and the font re-typed using a very similar font to the original that I happened to already have. [also, our top “photo” is a manipulation using a picture of Assad and an old 1930s election day photo, if you couldn’t guess.]

"the TVC vampires can forgive anything" yeah that's clear from the fact they don't kill one another for publishing these books

I mean, I guess when you know that other person is going to be around forever, your only two choices are to kill them or to find a way to coexist. (Or seal them up in some kind of oubliette, which is just putting off the inevitable.) And when there are so relatively few beings on Earth who can truly understand what it's like to be you, I can't imagine it would be an easy thing to cut even one of them completely out of your life with no hope of reconciliation.

the two (2) kinds of response

"Bonjour, Lestat here! I've recovered from my last round of beatings and learned nothing, so here's the nonsense we've been up to since the last book"

Illustration from “The Vampire Armand.”

With no one left to hug and wallowing in the ashes of his brothers, Armand hugs the bars of his cell. In an act of particular cruelty, his captors starved him for 6 days before throwing him his best friend Riccardo as a meal...and he didn’t realize it until he had already killed him.

[Many centuries later, Riccardo would have an emotional reunion with Armand as a ghost at his home in New York.]

Armand washes in the ocean after becoming a vampire, and Marius runs to meet him with a fur robe. The full quote:

"Oh, yes," he said. He hugged me roughly and kissed my throat all over, and my shoulders, and began to kiss my chest. "I can't hurt you now, I can't snuff out your life with an accidental embrace. You're mine, of my flesh and of my blood."

He stopped. He was crying. He didn't want me to see. He turned away when I tried to catch his face with my impertinent hands.

"Master, I love you," I said.

Not me only now realizing Louis was out there telling Daniel that Armand stuffs himself with "honey and pineapple" for days before he drinks from him, thus sharing with him a common remedy for sore throat. And we all know what irritates the throat reaaaally quickly.

Louis was really out there telling Daniel to get ready to stuff himself with every remedy for a sore throat, for his own good and for everyone else's. While also confessing he and Armand have a sore throat after all the talking and the... unwinding after the interview.

Furthermore, pineapple also makes certain body fluids (other than blood) have a distinct TASTE.

I mean, we’ve moved beyond “they’re gonna fuck that old man” territory. At this point, Old Maniel might as well have a target tattooed on his wrinkly old ass cheeks and a  𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓽𝔂 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓑𝓸𝓼𝓼  tramp stamp.
