can they do that? are you allowed to just fuckin… click and drag yourself like that? y’all practitioning the dark arts???? these people are out here defying gravity. moving around like the DVD player screensaver. they hacked reality and started wiggling their bodies back and forth like the Spore creature creator. I’m pretty sure they can clip through walls at will. shit.

Go to the inaugurations of littlely known artists’ exhibitions.

We are always begging for people to attend, there actually is the “hack” to invite your whole family but tell them to pretend they don’t know you. People with money are more willing to buy your work if they think many people likes it, so your mere presence eating our cheese and canapes will be a great helps. Please bring whoever you want too.

one time a pal of my pals was having a tough time selling their work in an art exhibit and called us up on the last day, ‘us’ being about 8 students who were Very hungry and also bored. We put on the nicest/artsiest clothes we had available (one dude had a legit fancy suit and put on some shades which were Bright Pink he looked like a movie star I swear) and rolled up to the show in pairs, separately. Fine Art Pal has some nice paintings! but nobody is really paying attention to them, so after getting some fancy cheese cubes in a manner that did not betray that we were actually a ravenous pack of starving students we casually wander around the show and then, fairly individually, drift to a stop by their work. Some of us even walked away, then came back a bit later ‘captivated’ by the art (it was actually really nice but recall we were all poor as shit and this was a help hustle). Our group’s interest naturally caught other folks, and eventually there was a small clump of about 15 people musing over this art, and within ten minutes the biggest piece had been snatched up by a shrewd investor. by the end of the exhibit every single piece was sold. It helped pay off the artist’s student debt and on that success they got into another exhibit! They’ve been doing well ever since.

So yes, please attend new artist shows, you get free cheese, get to look at nice art, and you can really help out people who deserve more attention.

No no, you don’t get it. Jesse and James are the absolute best there is at their jobs, but they have no idea what their jobs are.

They think that they’re thieves, agents of an elite criminal group led by Giovanni, stealing rare pokemon and advanced technology and such. And there might have been a time this actually was their jobs. In the first season or two, they frequently get angry phone calls about how they’ve fucked everything up, or get their expense account cut off because they have literally never turned a profit on their criminal enterprises and constantly procure and then lose/destroy expensive and elaborate devices.

But then the world came within a hair’s breadth of being destroyed, several times, and Jesse, James, and their weird cat rescued everybody. As terrible as they’ve always been at criminal endeavors of any kind, when the apocalypse approaches and they’re forced to step up, they’re really fucking good at saving the day.

And Giovanni is over here like… if the planet is destroyed, or time/space becomes unrecognizable, or civilization collapses, there’s no way for me to run a profitable criminal enterprise anymore. I need this planet, because it’s where I keep all my stuff. And I don’t pretend to understand the why of it, but these couple of bumbling nutcases that I should have fired years ago seem to be an important component of that? Somehow? So you gotta stop thinking about them in terms of acquisitions and start considering them… loss prevention. As in, even if you waste a million dollars a month on giant cat-faced robots and a vast array of fancy ball gowns and they never turn a profit, they are preventing all of your assets from going away at the same time because of something you can’t do anything about.

And that’s the great secret behind Team Rocket. These guys aren’t thieves, they’re professional superheroes (sponsored by organized crime). Of course, nobody ever bothered to tell them that.

Plus, as is frequently pointed out: Jesse and James are good at every other job EXCEPT Team Rocket. They’re actually smart businesspeople and run successful food and merchandise stands and are great salespeople. Hell, even in Team Rocket situations where they’re not chasing after Pikachu they’ve done better. It’s just their Achilles Heel is one damn OP rodent.

didn’t expect watching minecraft youtubers to strike me so hard with the concept of my own mortality

lemme explain: back when Minecraft was relatively new, I was a huge fan of that ‘first’ generation of Minecraft youtubers. dantdm, skydoesminecraft, bajancanadian, jeromeasf… they greatly influenced my humour and made up pretty much the entirety of my youtube watchlist seeing as Minecraft made up most of my life + home time. I followed their uploads religiously. But yknow, I… just grew up? Minecraft and I both got older. I stopped watching these people I’d been so invested in. It’s just how things go… you lose interest in a game or topic eventually, and find something new.

Then, a few months ago, I got recommended a Dream video. I thought… hey, what’ll I lose by subscribing? 

And it took me down the endless rabbit hole of getting totally invested in the current popular Minecraft youtubers. dream, technoblade, tommy, tubbo, philza, etc… before I knew it, it was just like the old days; tuning in to videos with total glee and laughing so hard at their blocky antics my stomach hurts. Getting drawn back in to the Minecraft culture and the joy of playing the game and feeling like you’re involved with a community. Just like old times.

So there’s… something almost bittersweet about the realisation that I’m older than a lot of these youtubers. They’re no longer these big, cool, mysterious creators that little me looks up to with wide eyes- I’m an adult. I’m part of the Minecraft generation who looks at it with nostalgia, who’ve seen the game rise and fall and rise again. The torch has been passed to a new generation… and while it makes me sad to see just how far away my childhood is now, it also makes me so happy that other people are going to have that experience I had. Minecraft is going to be nostalgia for them, too.

Help, i dont know what to do

some of you might know me, some of you might not. im a nonbinary pan boi who goes by ace online. im making this post cuz a friend told me it would help. its not somthing i would normally do, im the kind of person who finds alot of joy and equal parts stress helping others. and im very bad at accepting help for myself. its somthing im working on, which is WHY im making this post at 10:30pm gmt. 

i need help, support. idk. im kinda rambling here im tired, sad and scared. my family situation is a mess. and my living situation not so good. 

due to family issues i face potential homelessness or at least frequent threats of it. as well as a ton of verbal abuse. and i work a part time job. i cant afford to just move away from my problems. although im trying very hard to. 

my situation goes from good to bad in a split second. so i dont really know what kind of category of help i fit in. and i dont think im really important or serious enough for a go fund me. frankly i dont even know what i’d do with money if i got some. but any support would be appreciated during this mess im in. 

im purposefully keeping things vague to try to be civil as i dont know who will see this. but here’s my paypal. i hope things get better soon for me. i’v been dealing with stuff like this for far too long.
