Outside of Fnaf proper, what other media/artistic works out there, if any, inspired you to tell this story in the way you have? I know the early chapters were very much a spur-of-the-moment development, but after that point I’m curious if there are any particular influences for how you decided to take CGHA and onwards!
9 inspired it to a degree. I was already really into the concept of living machines with human souls, so venturing into it in a different way was really neat. ^_^ Some of the dream sequences have taken inspiration from other series and works- one that comes to mind immediately would be the American Mcgee's Alice games.
While this wasn't intended at the time, I notice the way I portrayed Mari at times sometimes resembles characters I grew up with. Such as No Face and Jack Skellington. 🥺 But since these were unintended, maybe I'm just seeing those connections now.
I can't think of any others that come to mind now. But if I do, I'll edit and add more!

Do you reckon there’s still a way for Steel Wool to make Mimic an interesting villain? Much as I also dislike his book lore (and the books in general), i will say imo his presentation in Ruin especially the ending reveal and chase was legit cool. Had to do my best to ignore the books in the back of my mind, but it made him more creepy and I’m glad SW didnt try to give his backstory - woulda been a super awkward exposition dump most likely.
I ask, because it seems likely the books are going to remain the source material you need in order to know where Mimic came from, and maybe this is a good thing? Not for the storytelling of FNaF as a whole, that’ll never not be a problem. but for SW and their games specifically, could this approach maybe give them the creative liberty to really *do* something with this villain? Or am i just grasping at straws here for a character that doesn’t deserve it?
The ending reveal was, admittedly, waaaay better than I was expecting. Because it didn't involve an info dump- save the little one Gregory had at the end- and it worked into the plot of Ruin. It felt a bit hasty and probably would've worked better as its own game- like as Security Breach proper- but it actually worked relatively well.
But I'm not entirely sure... The problem with the Mimic is that it's just sort of not that intimidating. In the books it's portrayed as an endoskeleton that blindly runs around and kills with an empty head, just vibes mentality. That could make an okay villain for one game, but... but if it's just going to turn into a constant guessing game of, "Oh, is this suspicious animatronic actually Mimic?" then it's going to get tired fast.
It's sort of the same issue I had with Eleanor. Save that at the very least, Mimic is more tangible. He climbs into suits and acts like various characters while Eleanor straight-up broke reality by just looking like whoever or whatever she wanted. Therefor inserting herself into scenarios where there was no indication she had ever been planned to be there.
Plus, after the Vanny situation, I don't exactly have faith that Mimic won't abruptly get abandoned for a completely different other villain. Switching villains isn't exactly a bad thing, but building up a character for games and then dumping them for the next idea is extremely anticlimactic.
At least Mimic's design doesn't allow for him to become as much of a merch magnet. That might actually do him well.

After all this time, all this hard work, I can finally tell you all more about my work on Welcome Home beyond "Dude Just Trust Me I Work On It I Swear" !!
I've been calling myself the "production manager" because a lot of what I've done has been in that realm - making checklists and spreadsheets, doing research, sending emails, and generally keeping our wonderful team on track to do the incredible things they do, with all the support they need! I'm very lucky and grateful to get to support Clown and all the incredible actors and artists we've brought on!!
that said, over the time I've been part of this project (I looked back and realized February 1st this year is when it all Officially Began, can you believe it), I've gotten to work on some more obvious, visible things you'll find on the site today as well! most prominently, I am very proud to say, I was the curator of the very real Welcome Home exhibition!! Clown was extremely generous and supportive in letting me bring his work into the world this way, and with their help it became bigger and better than I ever could have dreamed! Though this iteration was very small and private due to our venue, I hope the few of you I know who attended enjoyed it very much, and for the rest, know we hope to find ways to host the exhibition in other and more public venues in the future! (Where and when, I don't know, but I'll work hard to make it happen...!)
As part of the exhibition, I was able to create a lot of new props to help build the world of Welcome Home! Most excitingly, I was able to create a real working toy telephone, and help Clown to find our talented group of voice actors to provide the recordings! And of course, I was able to meet dear sweet Wally and Home themselves, who were the sweetest little peanuts and a true pair of professionals! Just delights to work with!!
Though this was my most prominent contribution, somehow, that wasn't all! You will find bits and pieces of my art and writing all over the newest website update (some places more obvious than others...), and I was able to contribute to building many of the new and updated site pages as well! We've all worked so hard on everything you'll find there, so I hope you all enjoy the exciting new additions to the neighborhood!
My final little statement while I have my sweet little soapbox here... every last one of you who has provided support, even just one ko-fi tip, has Directly made this update Possible!! Not only do these tips allow us very literally to pay for supplies, art, voice work and the like, it very directly Supports and Improves the livelihoods of every single person involved!! so if you have the means, and would like to do so, please do consider tipping or subscribing to Clown and/or any of the other artists and actors involved!

nimona the webcomic and nimona the netflix movie are so thematically different and come from such different periods in the artist's (nd stevenson) life and our lives and I love that?? I love the bitterness and angst and how morally gray the graphic novel was, just as much as I love the hopefulness and compassion and how unapologetically trans the netflix film is. watching his work grow as he grew older and I grew older and more secure in my sexuality, is just - so special. it's a rare thing to grow in parallel with the work of an artist you love, especially a queer artist, and I'm so fucking happy this film got made, especially with all its differences to the original work. something something to be loved is to be changed idk lmao.
Learning to work with the body and brain I have, rather than the one I thought I should have, has made my art better and easier to create.
It is so funny- I am Working on my Old monitor still! (If you have been Here for very long, you know She loves to Force Restart!)
Sometimes she Needs to cool down, though! (Gets very hot! Especially when it is Hot outside!) She will refuse to Save any of my Work! So I will peruse my inbox to give her Breaks!
