The other day on my walk I saw a mockingbird diving and wheeling over and over into a little bush, very agitated. Eventually I saw there was a big crow in among the bush twigs, presumably trying to get at what must be her nest. Feeling it my duty as the human observer to side with the smaller bird/distressed mom on this I strode over and said to the crow "Hey bud, go eat something else." The crow flapped off, seeming peeved, and the mockingbird flew after it and did not thank me. I walked home feeling virtuous but also a little doubtful, because I love crows, and the world of eating and being eaten is not congruent with human morality. Plus a lot of the time mockingbirds are just being dicks. I didn't actually even see a nest. Maybe that crow was just hiding in the bushes from being fucking hassled. In general I wondered if it had been my place to take sides.
Anyway so the last couple of days, a bunch of crows have been gathering closer and closer to my apartment. They don't do anything, they just peer in the window and make the cats frantic. "It was one nest," I told them. "There's all kinds of stuff to eat in those woods. There's berries and bugs. You had to follow me home about this?" Crows didn't say shit. Just ruffled at me and looked at the cats in a disdainful, snacky way.
Finally I said aloud "Crow, I'm very sorry I got high and mighty with you about that mockingbird. I didn't even see you eating any eggs, and it was none of my business." I put out some seeds and peanuts, and now they have all left. They're not even eating the peanuts! They just wanted an apology.
Thank you tumblr user @somanyofthekids, you are absolutely correct. I know that original crow wanted to tell her kids and grandkids to shit on my head into eternity and I'm v grateful to The Council for talking her down
[Video description: Four videos that have been stitched together; the first three are captioned. One: A lawyer in a suit says smugly, "I sued a 9-year-old kid and won!" Two: A bearded person sits outside and says ironically, "I challenged a nine year old kid to a basketball game and won." Three: A person wearing a yellow bandanna as a sweatband says dramatically, "I challenged a nine year old kid to a bench press competition, and won." Four: A (presumably) nine year old kid walks across a lawn, shaking their head slightly and sounding out of breath as they say, "I had the worst day of my life." End description.]

no......... i shant say.......................
i can't believe they did no press before or during tour and this whole time i was like Well maybe we'll get some clarity when it ends !! and the only thing that is clear is that gerard loves to hang out with that guy from fender
fun facts
house md 2023 and the team has to treat a true crime podcaster. house starts a betting pool saying he can solve the patients case AND the cold case the podcaster was recording before falling ill. cameron questions the morality of making entertainment out of other people's suffering. wilson bets against house. chase tells foreman and cameron that they should start their own podcast about their weekly cases
Gerard is really like "oh idk if I should post a photo of myself in an outfit tens of thousands of people saw me in, i don't want things to become parasocial" like girl you were one bad day away from posting hole in 2013
i saw someone on twt say to ‘point and laugh’ at lindsey for her tweet that said ‘i just blocked taylor swift. why not’ and acted like it was some awful misogynistic thing. and then someone in the comments pointed out that gerard had fucking retweeted it… and they ignored the reply and then them and their friends made seperate posts being like idc what gerard thinks about taylor, cope harder, she’s gonna be on mcr5 etc etc. like the fucking double standards how do they not realise??
yeah that's also something I've noticed. I don't use twitter as a mcr account but sometimes I will reply to a tweet with blatantly wrong info and correct it. I once saw someone tweet "does anyone have the tweet where Lindsey says she's Japanese 🤭" and I replied with the photo showing it was actually Gerard who said that. Oddly enough they didn't respond so I guess it's okay when he does it!
i thought this was a hospital drama why does he have a shotgun?!??!?
It's a really, really good hospital drama
I'm so glad I turned on the Audio bc it turns out this is set to Boney M's Rasputin and is basically perfectly synced
The best part of House was the first time any given fan heard Hugh Laurie's real speaking voice.
have you ever heard the rumor that lindsey cheated on gerard? I think it’s bs but you’ve been around in this fandom longer than I have
I think it’s the furthest thing from our business to even hypothesize if it happened or didn’t. It’s their personal life and they are capable of sorting out whatever happens in it. They both seem very happy in their relationship so, to me, that’s all that matters. I think it’s unfortunate people did so much privacy invasion that this is now a question that is commonly brought up. (Not blaming you anon) To save more people from looking it up, I will say I’ve seen the “proof” and I personally don’t believe it.
One thing that I find funny is that people will claim she cheated on him but will also theorize that Gerard was fucking Frank and Grant and etc.? That’s never viewed as cheating. Like, oh, so you’re only able to process open relationships when it comes to Gerard? or is it that cheating is only okay when your imaginary version of Gerard does it lol. I’m not saying either is true at all, the double standards are just very apparent to me
My hot take is that there is no shortage of resources for help and mental health for young men but young men are just generally not interested in any process that entails them accepting the slightest bit of accountability for their own actions and flaws, so that's why radicalization pipelines are such a popular alternative
#andrew tate does not exist because the left doesn't value young men#andrew tate exists because the left tells young men 'your pain is valid and so is the pain of other people'#and they go 'other people? can't relate' & choose to follow the influencer who tells them that all their problems are somebody else's fault#it's easier to blame women/cancel culture/the left/people of color/immigrants/greta thunberg than do an iota of introspection
Your hot take is wrong and victim blames men who have tried to find mental health help and been told there isn't room for them.
Yes, radicalization pipelines are real. People choosing them first is a thing western culture is especially good at. Most often on the individual level, people fall into them because they don't know that they're there.
But people getting pushed into them because they have nowhere else to go is a real problem and acting like the majority are just too arrogant or lazy or selfish to bother trying is not going to fix any issues for anyone, yourself included.
I live with and emotionally support three of them. There are at least a dozen more in my very small and close knit community. We all went through an apartment building fire together at the start of the pandemic and I have personally been pushing all of them to get mental health help. Two have done the "I'm too MANLY to need that" and have been written off for other reasons anyway, I no longer speak to them. One is currently in his first year of school to become a mental health support worker because he's so sick of having to do it alone and volunteering for the job is the only thing he can think of to do about it.
The REST are getting turned away from resources about half the time they ask for them. It's not a matter of other people taking them, it's a matter of underfunding and political lobbying and white collar scams. There just isn't enough to go around and while that would be easy to fix from the top, blaming the other people on the bottom is going to get you absolutely nowhere.
YES EXACTLY THANK YOU YOU ARE UTTERLY CORRECT AND YOU SHOULD YELL IT
it literally just boils down to “do you want things to be better or do you want to lash out at people you perceive as your oppressor.” it fucking sucks but sometimes in order to move toward liberation you have to do things that aren’t fair. you have to treat some asshole with respect and sit down and talk to him because as annoying and exhausting as that conversation may be for you in the moment, having more allies on our side is extremely important in the long run. we cannot dismantle the patriarchy without cishet men on board. let go of this internet “i don’t owe my oppressor education” mindset and actually engage with people. you don’t have to put yourself in harm’s way to do so. you’re not stupid. you can deduce for yourself when it’s safe to engage and when it’s not. but we need to stop hiding behind these weird internet mantras like “i don’t owe my oppressors anything” and “i shouldn’t have to educate you” because that gets us nowhere. we have to do things that aren’t fair if we want things to change.
I hope Gerard dressing as Joan of Arc starts a trend of men dressing as their favorite historical female figure. Take pride in dressing like someone cool. Women can also be gender defying costume worthy
How come men only dress as iconic female figures as a joke if at all but girls have been dressing as knights and Spider-Man since they were kids… makes you think!
