The Real Reason for Saturn's Blockages: Why Saturn delays but never denies.

I wanted to talk today about an idea that popped into my head doing my morning mercury meditation. This idea is built around Saturn's karmic blockages, and why I think it frustrates people so much. Especially the people who learn about Saturn through western astrology first.

If your into tropical astrology and live in the western world, odds are you learned your Astrology education through Western Astrologers. No worries, that's only normal.

When you go to a Western Astrologer, they teach you the spiritual aspect of Saturn. That Saturn causes karmic blockages, which deny the results of the house coming to you for the first 28-30 years of your life. The Western Astrologers will teach you about what is called the "Saturn Return." This is the period which Saturn in transit in the sky returns to the original degree and sign placement of Saturn in your own birth chart.

At such a time, it is taught that Saturn's return lifts the blockages, and karmically the results of that house are allowed into your life.

Now I started thinking about the Saturn Return when I was meditating this morning during the hora of Mercury (between 11-12 am where I live in Portland.) Suddenly, an idea hit me.

First, it's best to understand that Saturn is a planet of paradoxes in it's own right. It's weird and eccentric. Saturn is the only planet capable of building it's own resources and applying them to solve problems where it resides.

How does this apply in a human life?

Saturn is responsible for ruling two consecutive signs for every rising sign. Saturn rules the houses where Capricorn and Aquarius are placed side by side. This is significant, and ties into Saturn's nature. The house of Capricorn is where we commit to building resources in our life. After, we go next door to the sign of Aquarius. Here is where we observe in what ways those resources can be applied to make that house operate smoothly.

So how does this all tie into the Saturn Return? It has to do with the reality of Saturn's nature aforementioned.

As prior stated, Saturn is the only planet capable of building it's own resources and solving it's own dilemma's in the house it resides. But why is it exactly that we deal with these frustrating blockages with it?

It has to do eastern vedic philosophy. Every planet has a mooltrikon sign. A mooltrikon sign is where the planet itself feels most happy expressing. It's very simple to know. 4 out of 5 planets that rule two sign's in Astrologer, the Mool Trikon sign is the masculine sign of that planet. This is because the masculine sign is the sign the planet actually wants to take action and make a difference in practical tangibles of that house.

For the record, Mercury is the only planet where the Mool trikon is feminine. That is Virgo, which is another story for another day.

Regardless, It's important to realize that Saturn's Mool trikon sign being Aquarius is very important in producing Saturn's delays. Why is this? In Astrology, The Sun always leads the Moon. The Masculine always rushes in and leads, looking to take action and make a difference first. Then the feminine receives, listens, contemplates, and supports the action, processing supporting ways to help the masculine more effective in its actions.

So where Saturn in your birth chart exists, is Where Saturn is going to first apply it's Aquarius energy before bringing results to that house. This is very important. Aquarius is rooted in the archetype that detaches intellectually, observes from a distance and looks for flaws. After this process is done, Aquarius through Saturn tries create a it's own vision of perfection by using resources to fix the holes. Thus, the result is using resources to create an idealistic vision of how the house placement of Saturn can work.

Ah, but here is the flaw in this and what actually is responsible for producing Saturn's karmic blockages. For you see, the karmic blockages are not a spiritual thing at all. The blockages are rooted in practical reality.

Since Aquarius leads the way in Saturn's placement, we are taking long look at that house in our life to observe its flaws from a distance. We get an idea where it's failing us, and what resources we can use to fill the gaps and make the Saturn house best function.

The issue that creates the blockage? The resources have to actually be created so that the masculine expression of Saturn (Aquarius) can finish it's job it initially partook in.

So in this way, Saturn is kind of working backward in our life. Building resources takes a long time. Especially when it comes to solving big issues we observe in a house. We observe the famine and lack of that house through Aquarius, and then have to commit to the Capricorn side of Saturn to put in the work to build resources to correct the situation.

Aquarius, being a wise sign, lays the ground work. Now, we see the flaw in why human beings struggle with Saturn so much. We actually have to CATCH up to Saturn's maturity. We are born young, and are born trying to figure things out. In order for the logical reasoning ability to develop, we have to build up our mercuries. We do this by going to school, and going out and doing things in society.

Basically the the fist 28-30 years of life, is going out into the world and figuring everything out about society, how it relates to us, what we can contribute, how life fits as a whole, etc.

Now at what 28-30 when Saturn returns, we "catch up" to Saturn's maturity. Remember, Saturn is the furthest of the original 7 planets in Astrology. In such way, we can say it's the planet we realize in our lives after we lived the other planet's experiences out. Before we can build something for the society, we have to get a higher education to have the sources to build a career. There is a proper order to realizing Saturn like that.

In the human life, we can't expect to be born young and have the tools to correct flaws we observe. We have to catch up to those observations by building our own life up. There is no other way, especially to fill that idealistic vision of perfection Aquarius is known for.

So Saturn in a house is where we have to gain a broad perspective through using Aquarius energy, realize where our deficits in our own human life reside, where we have to adjust ourselves and build the resources and foundation (often through education, engineering, etc.) and then apply it through hard work to see results actually.

That's how the Saturn Return really works in a nutshell.

Hope this writing gave you something.
