I need all my non-trekkie followers to know that a lot of starships have a department devoted to navigation and other important operations that is 100% staffed by dolphins and whales
everyone’s like ohh spock is autistic data is autistic and they’re RIGHT but when will we talk about WORF my friend WORF and how he has autism as well
everyone’s like “oh it’s so funny how all the klingons are so ribald & relaxed & make fun of worf for being suuuper rigid about Klingon Traditions & having his little Routines when no klingons are like that in real life” & i’m like [grabs your cheeks, stares deeply into your eyes] “it’s because worf has klingon autism”
What I’m getting from this is that across the galaxy, neurodivergent people who can’t fit in with their own societies just go and hang out with the humans instead.
Vulcans are probably the freakiest little bitches to ever exist. You show me an emotionally repressed touch telepath species that has a fuck or die party every 7 years and expect me to believe they aren’t the kinkiest weirdest species in the known universe?
No.
Vulcan pornhub has more terabytes of hand fetish porn than we have data storage capacity on the entire world wide web.
Well I have to reblog this because this is the only way I’ve ever written Vulcans
the only time it was actually funny and entertaining when a "ship" was "confirmed" by someone who worked on the show was when someone asked rene auberjonois at a panel what the nature of quark and odo's relationship was and he replied "sexual." without elaboration
image description: two tweets from coherent she/theyves @ fppf_gf. the first tweet says: tbh it's fucked up that private pharmaceutical companies stole the possibility of a freely available vaccine for the entire world and now we just say their names all the time like it's a cutesy meme
the second tweet says, "oh you got vaccinated? which one did you get?"
"i got it from the same people who drove the price of insulin up to 200 dollars."
end image description
Also Bill Gates, don't forget that Bill Gates literally spent millions to make sure the vaccine created by Harvard (which I believe is the Moderna vaccine) was not allowed to be open source and instead regulated to a single corporation to be able to manufacture and sell, thus slowing vaccination rates and the ability of poorer countries to actually get vaccines by a degree that I can only describe as beyond evil.

I fucking hate languages.
The Greeks had this word, right, we have no idea where it came from, it just kinda popped up out of nowhere, and it could mean either apples, cheeks, or boobs. Problem is it looked and sounded *exactly* like another, unrelated word which could mean sheep, goat, or any animal in general really, which must have got confusing if you were a farmer talking about your livestock, but anyway…
Then the Romans, having stolen practically everything else from the Greeks, thought they’d nick this word too, because Latin isn’t confusing enough without throwing in a bunch of loan words. And they adopted it to mean a pumpkin.
Then the English came along and were all like “when in Rome”, and stole it, where it became our word ‘melon’. Which has now come back to mean boobs.
How do you like them apples.
I fucking love languages.
In case anyone doubts the veracity of this:

Calling boobs ‘melons’ literally transcends culture, time, and language.

Homophobic straight cis men have long been envious of the homosexual and the transsexual for how much sex they’re having. Straight cis men who define their sexuality through metaphors of conquest and violence find that people who define their sexuality through freedom and love have a better time doing it and with way more partners. This is despicable to the homophobic straight cis man who can only find joy in restriction, exclusion and shame.
He boasts of his conquests because to him they are representative of his natural place within the social order. The sexual freedoms of the other however is deviant precisely because it deviates from sex as conquest and violence between unequal parties. It is deviant not because homosexuality between consenting adults is somehow morally wrong but because it promotes an equality between partners, not for the conquest of the male over the woman towards reproduction and thus the transfer of property but for the joy of living and out of love for one another outside the bounds of legal contracts, property ownership and compulsory reproduction.
Freedom and love is antithetical to the homophobe who can only accept love as long as it is confined within society’s expectation that you only be allowed to pair off with a patriarch or madonna, conform, reproduce regardless of your wishes and die. Love outside these limits is seen as an existential threat to the status quo of patriarchy and must be destroyed, assimilated and recuperated.
The homosexual and transsexual express a love that creates new possibilities for social bonds outside of cisheteropatriarchy. Homophobes and transphobes are only capable of expressing a love that destroys the possibilities of non-exploitative relationships.
(For context: We were discussing how to inclusively discuss abortion rights. @rose-teeth is a radfem)
Every trans person is going to be different, so yes, some trans men identify as male. That's why the BEST language is "people deserve access to abortion". If you feel a desperate need to divide people by sex assigned at birth, "assigned female at birth" aka AFAB, is always going to be more inclusive than "woman". If you take anything away from this, please start using "afab" instead of "woman".
Secondly, there is no "trans ideology", no more than there is a "gay agenda". Those are bigoted phrases used by bigots to make trans and gay people sound like we're sinister monsters. If you don't believe trans people are valid, you are transphobic, and transphobia is a form of bigotry just like homophobia is bigotry.
Trans ideology proposes that gender is a real thing that tangibly exists and is also more important than bio sex. Radical feminists and other gender critical people do not agree with this.
It's a very religious stance. What is gender? How is it defined universally? Can it be measured? Tested? Does it exist outside clothing and sexist stereotypes? Does everyone in the trans community view gender as a concept the exact same way? Or is it basically a new age version of a soul?
Radfems and GC people do not believe gender is real. We understand that biological sex determines whether someone is a man or a woman. Exactly like how a hen is an adult female chicken and a doe is an adult female deer, a woman is an adult female human. A man is an adult male human.
We also do not uphold sexist stereotypes about the sexes that make up the concept of gender (i.e. women like pink, long pretty nails and hair, dresses and skirts, being soft spoken and dainty and submissive, femininity and men like blue, have tough skin from working in the yard, pants and practical clothing, being loud and rambunctious and assertive and dominant, masculinity).
We do not believe people when they say they feel like a sex they biologically are not. How can they know what it feels like to be a sex that they are not? How does a male identify with womanhood when he is a male person? He doesn't. He simply identifies with femininity, which is NOT what womanhood is. Likewise for trans identifying females. They don't like femininity and prefer masculinity so they think that makes them men.
It's an entirely sexist mindset. And we're not obligated to agree with you on it. And we're certainly not bigots for not agreeing with you on it.
Your first sentence is completely untrue, so literally nothing else you have to say matters. No trans person has ever said anything like that.
Gender is a social construct. It is not more or less important that birth sex. "Bio sex" is also a social construct. Both are "real" in the sense that they are things that humans place cultural significance on, and they can cause very real effects on people stemming from their cultural significance, like sexism and misogyny. Race is a social construct too, but racism is very very real and definitely affects people.
“they” (1 word) is shorter than “he or she” (3 words)
“they” is more inclusive than “he/she”
“themself” flows more naturally than “him or herself”
“they” is less clunky than “(s)he”
it’s time to replace the awkward “she or he”
“hey can you go ask they what does they want for dinner, and when is they coming over to watch movies with they?”
“Hey, can you go ask them what they want for dinner, and when they’re coming over to watch movies?”
Step one is learning how to talk like a human person.

We’ve been using they/them/their pronouns to indicate a person with unspecified gender for a long ass fucking time. The only reason it’s become a big issue lately is because it can be used as a semi-respectful term for trans and non-binary folks and we can’t have that can we
These fucks are literally trying to change our language to hurt trans/nb folks, and claiming that’s just the way its always been

Inspired by the brief period of time I thought I was polyamorous because I felt the same way about my boyfriend as I did my best friends and I hadn't clocked yet that all of those feelings were platonic
My horny ass could NOT be the sole mechanic for a mech, alone in the repair bay, talking to the mech's AI core, discussing the harsh reality of the war we've found ourselves in. Me discussing my mortality, the 50ft entity I've spent the last several years learning the intricacies of and is fully aware of the fact that as a tool of war it'll either die in battle or end up abandoned as it's systems all fail until emergency back-up power keeps it awake for possibly thousands of years. We talk about how neither of us has felt a connection between ourselves and anything else worth dying for like that, except maybe... Well, the rest of the base has almost certainly gone to sleep by now. The cockpit clicks shut with a soft "click" and I. I mean uh, I forgot where I was going with this.
Apparently I've struck a chord with the giant robot fucker fandom
