One thing that’s apparent in all of Qamar’s design explorations is the prominent peacock imagery, which can be seen through many elements of traditional Siddi style dress. We combined that with elements inspired by 1890’s military, such as the Hyderabad State Forces which we used primarily for Qamar's jacket. The final design makes for a unique look with a color palette of pleasing green hues.
Something quite obvious that separates Qamar from other character portraits is his large Qilin companion accompanying him. We wanted to think of ways to tie these two together, so greens in its mane reflect Qamar’s palette and its face echoes the colors and shapes of Qamar’s face paint as well!
