Today I was thinking about Harry and Ginny’s wedding in a way that I hadn’t really considered before. I pictured the two of them surrounded by all the Weasleys, who would be celebrating them and welcoming Harry into the family, and realized how emotional that must have been for Harry, who would have not only been marrying the love of his life that day, but gaining the Weasleys in a real and tangible way. Even though the Weasleys already considered him family, I think that their change in status to his “in-laws” would have meant a lot to Harry, who may have needed that “official” status to be completely comfortable doing the same—not because he didn’t love them like family, but because he might not have felt it was his right to claim them. It makes me so happy to think that Harry might have had a day as wonderful and meaningful as that. 😊
