do you think this ever happened to a servant on dragonstone wanting to knock on stannis' door and getting some images in his head instead
How to write a greek myth retelling
Step 1: don't read the source material
Step 2: pick a genre: it's either a) a "feminist" retelling (female main character, all men are evil) or b) a gay retelling (male main character, all women are evil)
(helenshaming is ok in both cases)
Step 3: make your main character the victim (WARNING: your main character can never be the main character of the original text)
Step 4: name the book either the name of your main character OR a vague phrase with greek myth-esque words
i swear i saw this exact plot on the back of a teen romance book in 2017, just without the odyssey flavour
browsing through the iliad tag and only finding tsoa stuff has the same energy as looking up your lesser known sexual/romantic orientation tag and only finding posts of people who thought it was necessary to tag their specifically gay post with ALL the lgbtq tags
