The different types of malocclusion of the teeth.

If you have irregular teeth and when you go to a dentist, the dentist may tell you that you've got Malocclusion of the teeth. And after hearing this word, you get serious. Well, don't be; it is just another word for misaligned teeth. But they have different cases with different names. Let us know the different types of Malocclusion of teeth.

Overcrowded:

As the name suggested, when there is too much crowd, i.e., lack of space, then the teeth start overlapping with each other. This is known as Overcrowding.

Overjet:

When the top teeth come front to the bottom teeth, they're said to be Overjet. Though you may get confused with Overbite, that is a different case.

Overbite:

When the top teeth cover up the gums of the bottom teeth, they're known as Overbite. Due to the Overbite, the bottom teeth are overlapped with the top teeth.

Crossbite:

When your teeth are at rest, you will notice that your upper teeth are fit behind your lower teeth. If that is the case, then you're having Crossbite. Again do not get confused with an underbite.

Underbite:

In this case, your bottom teeth cover up the upper teeth. Along with the Overcrowding, this is another common case that most people have. The good thing is, it can be treated easily.

Spacing:

As per the name, when there is too much space between the teeth, then it is known as Spacing Malocclusion. This might occur due to tooth loss, thumb sucking, and many other reasons.

Diastema:

It is the case in which there is a slight or good gap in between two upper front teeth. These are also a common problem in which people have gaps in between two teeth.

Impacted tooth:

It is a tooth that has troubler while erupting from the gums. Usually, they're either extracted or treated through surgery. Impacted teeth are also common these days.

Missing Tooth:

When your tooth is either decayed, damaged, or broken, then this case is known as Missing Tooth. In this, you need to go with artificial surgeries to have a new artificial tooth.

Open Bite:

In this case, there is a space in between the upper and lower teeth. When the upper teeth can't overlap, the bottom teeth are known as Open Bite.
