Rose/Caleb, she/they. Icon by me. This isn't a blog it's a coping mechanism. I don't know what I'm doing but I'm having fun doing it. Proud member of the Jesus fandom. Read my about pls

every time i read saving raphael santiago i want to write a billion essays about it, which is embarrassing bc this book is written by the plagiarism harry potter lady. am currently physically restraining myself from writing an essay called “cassandra clare’s monster metaphor for being murdered by a pedophilic serial killer is better than jkr’s monster metaphor for being murdered by a pedophilic serial killer”. It goes “cassanda clare’s book has other gay people in it.”

i do think it's kinda hilarious that people are like claiming that everyone being surprised by hank green being bisexual is some form of bi erasure like no actually i just dont keep up with the sexualities of youtube men i watched when i was 15 lol

"he's been bi for over a decade yall are just biphobic" im sorry but the last hank green video i watched was in my 10th grade world history class and he did not in fact bring up his bisexuality in that video. he did however talk about the mongolian empire quite a bit.

PSA for Across the Spiderverse:

Do NOT see the new Spiderverse movie if you have any form of epileptic condition or conditions affected by bright lights and rapidly changing colors.

I will not be spoiling the plot or anything happening in it, but it is important that people know, because ohhh my god the AMOUNT of flashing lights and rapidly changing colors from beginning to end was so rampant that even I, a non-epileptic autistic person, got a severe headache and wild overstimulation. They do not give a warning in theaters at all that this movie is NOT epileptic friendly from the literal beginning with the beginning credits - which is so, so sad!

This is a beautifully made film, it's wonderful, it's amazing, but unfortunately, it's not a good time for anyone super affected by bright flashing lights in rapid succession, especially those seizure prone.

I wanted to put this out there BECAUSE there are no theater warnings. Idk if anyone else has put it out there, but it is SUPER IMPORTANT!!!

I wish you all a lovely day and hope they eventually have a remaster that will be much more friendly to epileptic and other people affected by bright, flashing lights.

Honestly the whole 2006 planet definition is really bad, though. Not because of Pluto, but because clearing its orbit, or having an orbit at all, shouldn’t be a requirement for a planet.

Why would they make rogue planets not planets?

the categories used in astronomy for classifying solar system objects primarily refer to the dynamics between them, moreso than their physical properties. after all, the only reason the Moon isn't classified as a planet is that it orbits the Earth instead of the Sun.

there are, of course, contexts where differently defined categories based entirely on physical properties are way more useful than basing it on the way they move around each other, but in THESE contexts having one category that includes the gas giants AND the terrestrial planets doesn't make that much sense (after all, the main property they have in common is. their orbital characteristics)
