Childhood maltreatment does not only result in PTSD or C-PTSD. It is tied to many personality disorders, including extremely demonized ones such as NPD and BPD.

Yet for some reason people don’t really seem to think of people with personality disorders as simply traumatized and in need of help, but as incorrigibly broken or inherently evil.

This is especially true if the disorder in question is associated with low empathy, even if not all people with said disorder have that symptom in particular. Having low empathy means that a lot of people will get explicitly genocidal about your existence.

cluster B personality disorders are basically just different manifestations of trauma. a lot of behavior I had as a child that was considered dangerous, manipulative attention-seeking (later called bpd) was a cry for help but no one sees it as such, because people expect abuse victims to be sympathetic, when in reality processing and surviving trauma is more complicated

The person I reblogged this from deserves to be happy

I tried to scroll past this. I really did

This thread omg

Family doesn’t have to be blood related.

Sometimes family is a righteously angry little girl, her supportive brother, a random stranger with a thirst for chaos and justice, two foreign grandmas, and The Rest Of The Plane.

yasss this makes me happy like nothing else lol

What if Steve did like heavy metal...just didn't know it?

Hear me out. Steve was not very well versed in movies. He said Star Wars had *teddy bears* in it. He obviously liked the movie, just didn't know what the Ewoks were.

Not everybody knows what genres and subgenres are. There are people that hear a song a bunch of times, like it, maybe even sing it under their breath...but have no idea the title, album, or even the artist. They are a casual listener. They just like the song 🤷‍♀️

Now, imagine Eddie "calls Steve Ozzy but he has no idea who that is" Munson and Steve in the Beemer. Some stations are changed. Eddie is in the middle of a heated conversation with one of the kids in the back, when he hears it.

Steve is not only absent-mindedly singing along to a metal song, he is also drumming his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat. When Eddie freaks out and asks how long Steve's been into metal, Steve says, "Wait. *This* is metal?"

That later becomes "their song" 😊

milk-thistle is an example of a word where the tongue barely moves… basilica is an example of a word where the movement involved is like a seesaw. opium as a word is circular to say. to say a word like violence involves a bit of a forced pause in the mouth where the o connecting the syllables is. etymologists trace the word’s history, poets feel the word’s impact, singers listen to the word’s musicality, linguists tell the word to go this way and that way, and the word is gracious to all in return

trump is standing behind the curtain. holding the fucking thing wide open. screaming 'pay no attention to the man behind the curtain'

I meant to make this meme ages ago when pride month was still on but yeah gé (pronounced gay) is the Irish for a goose.

IT’S FINALLY PRIDE MONTH, TIME TO REBLOG THIS AGAIN.
