The franchise faced competition from Dabang Delhi and U Mumba during the auction but it was firm on purchasing the player for any amount, which led to Goyat registering his name in record books. However, the road to glory for him was not at all easy. As a son of a farmer, he had limited resources and faced hardships at the start of his career. "We played for a job.
