Drew Henderson plays Lob der Tränen by Schubert | This is Classical Guitar
Canadian guitarist Drew Henderson plays Lob der Tränen by Franz Schubert (1797-1828) on an 1868 René Lacôte guitar. This comes via his fantastic YouTube channel. Wonderful playing as usual from Henderson. I'm assuming this is the period arrangement by Johann Kaspar Mertz (1806-1856) in his Six Schubert Songs (IMSLP facsimile). Drew's Youtube blurb: "Here is another video filmed in Italy with a beautiful Lacôte guitar from 1868. Lacôte built guitars for many of the major guitar composers of the 19th centruy, including Sor, Aguado, and Coste. This is believed to be one of Lacôte's last two instruments, as there are only 2 known to exist from this year. Used with kind permission from the owner, Matteo Mela. Filmed at the Chiesa di San Bernadino, in Ivrea Italy."
