Ripped Jeans
Lyrics: A ten year old little boy, with a ripped pair of blue jeans The other kids just laugh and stare, at the tear beneath his knee How could it be his own fault, it’s the only pair he’s got His mother passed away last year, and his daddy’s got no job Eight years gone now in time, and that boy is still a kid But he’s on his own now, no home, same rip upon his shin He holds a cup out with a sign, calling for some change to spare But they just pass on by, pretending he’s not there He can wait for a while, but he can’t wait forever (no) He’s got to try and believe, and hope for better (oh) Maybe he could last the night, and beat the weather If only we could realize, and come together Ten years pass, and that boy now stands a man He wears a suit now with a tie, and a briefcase in his hand He see’s a woman on the street, “Homeless” written on her sign He just stops and cries, remembering the time She can wait for a while, but she can’t wait forever She’s got to try and believe, and hope for better Maybe she could last the night, and beat the weather If only we could realize, and come together The man reaches down to her, and grabs her by the hand He says “don’t ever lose faith, God has a plan.”
