UFC 216: Ferguson submits Kevin Lee, wins interim lightweight crown
Tony Ferguson (24-3-0) overcame a game Kevin Lee (16-3-0) to walk away with a third-round triangle choke submission in the main event of UFC 216 in Las Vegas Saturday night. Lee started off extremely fast in the first round, getting the takedown and working all the way to full mount. Ferguson was in serious trouble near the end of the round, with Lee reigning down strikes prompting concern from referee Herb Dean, who warned Lee for striking after the bell, but did not deduct a point. In the second frame, the momentum slowly switched to Ferguson. Lee began to tire while Ferguson found his striking range striking.
