ANCIENT POLYNESIAN TATTOO TOOLS WERE MADE OF HUMAN BONE | | LARS KRUTAK
Originally excavated in 1963, human and animal bone tattoo combs from site Tongatapu To.1, Tonga, were recently radiocarbon dated and are believed to be 2700-years-old, making them the oldest confirmed tattooing combs found in Oceania.
