Winter Solstice - Jessthetics
Outfit Details: Dress, Vintage (Miracle Eye) / Top, Handmade by Me / Boots, Dr Martens (hand-me-down from a friend) Apparently I like to torture myself because I decided to take outfit photos on Winter Solstice a.k.a. the time with least light of any day of the year. Yes, it’s taken me a while to post these photos, I have a backlog! I adore this dress because it’s comfy and floaty and with a roll neck underneath I can wear it in cold weather. Usually I wear a cotton or a jersey top but I thought this gold and shiny one made me look more like a Spice Girl and I am okay with that. Taking outfit photos is often a bizarre experience – I do find it embarrassing and people will try to talk to me on the street but I try to get past it! On this occasion someone actually came out of her house (not even one of the houses in the background) to ask what we were doing. “Taking photos” I said. Unimpressed, she asked “but why?” Good question, lady from up the street, good question. My brother kindly took these photos for me when I was last home over Christmas and by coincidence, I am back home at my parents place right now. It’s always nice to be home, it’s so comfy and everything smells familiar. We’ve been vintage shopping in Leicester and clearing out my room (I’ve been moved out for years so I guess the clearing out will never end…) I’ve been spending a lot of time with my bunny rabbit Archie, lying on the floor whilst he sniffs me and climbs on me and I watch a lot of Gilmore Girls. That’s what trips back home are for, right? Related
