Watch does have an 802.11 radio |
It seems the BtLE and WiFi logic got combined and then SoC'ed or (circuit board on a chip) on the S1 'CoC'. Its a redundancy solution in case the Bt radio fails. There is a plist parameter that only allows comms to an iPhone. I take back what I said about Jony Ive not being able to solve the one issue keeping it from prime time. The restriction is self imposed. Good on you Sir Ive for looking forward.
