Do the Haters Prove Christianity is True? - GiveAnAnswer.org
Does the opposition to Jesus and his followers so prevalent today prove his claims? Do the haters of the cross prove the cross? Our society has tolerance for everything but Christianity and its leader, Jesus of Nazareth. Mention you are a follower of Buddha and you are shown respect. Say you are a follower of Gandhi, Marx, Nietzsche or Lao Tzu and you are considered an intellectual. Even militant followers of Muhammad are given the benefit of the doubt and a sympathetic ear. Just look at our own President! But mention The Cross, Jesus Christ or any of his exclusive truth claims and the façade of benevolent tolerance is unmasked. And the self-centered, self-appointed, little gods once hidden behind the curtain of political correctness are clearly revealed. Dancing bitterly on their own coals of anger, shaking their fists at Truth. Why does the world hate Jesus and his followers? Why? Because Jesus is a threat and affront to the autonomy of the self and its own claim to be God. Because Christianity is true. The self knows it, and it hates that it knows it. Do the haters prove Christianity is true? Jesus said they would. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’ John 15:25 (NIV) _________________ 18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[b] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’ John 15:18-25 (NIV) Like This Blog?
