Visiting our Nation’s Capital last weekend was an unforgettable experience! First of all, exploring history and our country’s roots through the eyes of a 14-year-old is a pretty cool experience. He is just finishing up studying World War I and beginning to learn about Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. What a powerful to time to visit Washington, with its rich history, and learn all about the the leaders and events that shaped our great country. Friday afternoon we hopped off the plane and didn’t skip a beat. We dropped our luggage at the hotel then walked straight to see the Washington Monument, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial and the newer World War II Memorial. Fall is truly an amazing time of year to stroll these grounds. It’s like they’re painted a beautiful array of red, orange, gold and brown. I’m sure spring is mesmerizing as well.
