WKAJ covers western Montgomery county, along with portions of Herkimer, Hamilton, Otsego and Oneida counties during the daytime at 10KW. A smaller area at night at 400W. They are imaging it as “the outlaw”. There is a CP for a 250 watt cross band translator on 97.9. This makes a lot of country in that area; Roser stations WVTL 1570 Amsterdam also has a classic country format at the eastern end of Montgomery county, WBUG 101.1 Fort Plain/ WBGK 99.7, Newport Village are country, as is WFRG 104.3, Utica.
