It was rebroadcasting WGAR. It’s shown in the FCC records as W268CV with COL of Beachwood. I also noticed that 106.1 was no longer on the air, so it was a switch from 106.1 to 101.5. There was RDS popping up too. February 10, 2017 at 3:54 pm #172236 MediaFan85Participant Is iHeart planning to do something else with 106.1 or shut that one down for good. That frequency could be used for another AM in Cleveland without an FM translator. Not sure if 101.5 is a good place considering WINT’s translator further out east. Any updates on 93.7/104.5 in Cleveland? My guess is 101.5 is not a final destination for iHeart. Either they will use that frequency or perhaps (and this is just a guess) swap with EMF for one of theirs. There’s 92.7 and 103.7. Why does WGAR need a repeater in this area anyway? Quote August 17, 2017 at 1:28 pm #176048 Crazy MonkeyParticipant The fact of the matter is that WGAR does not need any repeater on 101.5, 101.1. 106.1 (where they used to be), or wherever the heck they want. It’s a way of shutting down competing radio stations from using these frequencies, and the FCC is incapable of stopping this practice from happening. Or they just don’t care, as any government-run entity is ineffective at accomplishing anything meaningful.
