New York Mets Invite 13 Additional Players to Spring Training - Pro Sports Fandom
The New York Mets decided to invite 13 players to spring training that are not currently on the 40-man roster. Outfielder Tim Tebow was one of the 13 players invited. He has been in the Mets farm system for the past couple of years. Tebow is 31 years old and it impressive what he has been doing in the minors league considering the fact he hasn’t played baseball his whole life. In 84 games with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (AA) last season, Tim Tebow’s batting average was .273 with six home runs and 36 RBI’s, along with one stolen base. His on-base percentage was .336. Tebow will probably see a few games in spring training. He will probably be sent back down to the minors. Tim Tebow will still have work to do before he reaches the MLB. First baseman Peter Alonso will be another player that’s invited. It is quite possible he becomes the Mets full time starting first baseman this season. Alonso will probably start the first few weeks of the season in Triple-A with the Syracuse Mets. He will probably then be called up after that and expect him to make an immediate splash in the MLB.
