After blowing a 2-0 lead in Game 1, the Washington Capitals wanted to get a lead early and continue to attack. The Capitals got off to a flying start in Game 2 against the Pittsburgh Penguins and this time Washington won the game 4-1. The series is tied at one. Alex Ovechkin scored a goal 1:26 into the game for the Washington Capitals after Patric Hornqvist failed to clear the zone and it landed right on Ovechkin’s stick. Jakub Vrana scored a power-play goal later in the first for the Capitals. Pittsburgh challenged the play for goalie interference and the goal was upheld. Brett Connolly scored on a fast break 2:02 into the second-period for Washington. Later in the second-period, Tom Wilson elbowed Brian Dumoulin in the head and Alex Ovechkin also crunched him. Dumoulin left the game with a head injury and he did not return. Will see if the league disciplines Wilson or not. Pittsburgh’s lone goal of the game was scored by Kris Letang in the second period. With around 11 minutes to go in regulation, Sidney Crosby attempted a wrap around shot and it seemed as if Patric Hornqvist scored a goal and it fully crossed [...]
