The Boston Bruins have not fared well in Game 3’s ever under Bruce Cassidy and they felt like tonight would be a perfect opportunity to win one. The Carolina Hurricanes made life difficult for them early but once again, goaltender Tuukka Rask might have been the best player on the ice for Boston. He saved all 19 shots he faced in the first-period for the Bruins. Rask finished the game with 35 saves in the game and it was one of the reasons why Boston won Game 3 over Carolina 2-1. The Boston Bruins now have a commanding 3-0 series lead on the Hurricanes. Chris Wagner scored 1:21 into the second-period for Boston. They went up 2-0, 5:07 later in the period on a power-play goal scored by Brad Marchand. Calvin de Haan cut the lead in half for Carolina with 6:12 remaining in the second-period. It appeared as if the Bruins were going to go up 3-1 in the third-period on the power play, but there was no goal on the ice because Jake DeBrusk interfered with goaltender Curtis McElhinney.
