With it being the month of March, baseball season is just around the corner. It is tougher to pitch in the American League because they have to face a designated hitter unlike the National League. Corey Kluber of the Cleveland Indians won the American League CY Young for the second time in three seasons. Other than Corey Kluber, who else can be candidates for the American League CY Young award in 2018? Justin Verlander, Houston Astros: Verlander was one of the main reasons why the Astros won the World Series last season. He was a machine ever since he left the Detroit Tigers. Verlander was 5-0 with a 1.06 ERA. In 34 innings pitched, he walked only five batters and struck out 43. Dallas Keuchel, Houston Astros: Dallas Keuchel went 14-5 with a 2.90 ERA last season. He had a bounce back 2017 season after a rough 2016 outing. Keuchel will once again be a candidate to win the AL CY Young because of a very good fastball and a curveball.
