Hellbreak is an interesting game. And by interesting, I mean it's all about trying to escape hell. Which is kinda how I felt when I played it. It's a 2D, single-screen platforming game, reminiscent of the gameplay of the original Mario Bros game (with the giant POW block). Only it isn't really all that fun. You jump on platforms, avoiding enemies and death-spaces, trying to get to the exit. The graphics are laughable at best: they look like a cartoonist's early attempts at trying to get a job at MAD magazine. It's this style that is carried on throughout the entire game. Every time I glanced at the guy (we'll get to him in a minute) I felt look I was looking at Fundalini Pages reject drawings. It gets worse though: the sprite animations will have you face-palming, most of the dialogue blocks out the play area, and....
