April Love Lula Natural Beauty Box Review | PinksCharming
After last month’s fantastic Love Lula Beauty Box, which was my favourite yet, I knew that April’s could never be as good. But was it still worth the £14.95 it costs a regular subscriber? Read on to find out. April’s Love Lula Natural Beauty Box contains four full-sized products, plus two samples, together worth £62. A recurring subscription to the Love Lula Beauty Box is £14.95, including postage. You also get a code for 25% off the brands featured in the box, to use until the 10th of the following month. April’s featured brands are Alteya, Gallinée, GlossWorks, Dr. Botanicals and Kimberly Sayer. Gallinée Probiotic Body Milk Although not the most natural of products, with 94% ingredients of natural origin, this Gallinée Probiotic Body Milk is really a pleasure to use. It sinks in beautifully, leaving skin so soft and smooth. It also smells lovely and citrusy, so it’s great for spring. You can buy Gallinée Probiotic Body Milk for £28 here. Alteya Certified Organic Chamomile Water This is a multi-purpose, 100% natural spray, which gets bonus points from me because it comes in a recyclable glass bottle. It has just one ingredient: 100% Bio Bulgarian Chamomile Flower Water. It can be used in several different ways, which makes it a nice hard-working product. You can use it in place of a toner, by sweeping it over skin on a cotton pad. Alternatively, you can mist it over your body, or spritz it over your face to set your make-up. I’ve tried all of these and can confirm it works well. Apparently you can also use it to rinse your hair with, but I haven’t tried that. Although it does work well, I don’t like the smell, unfortunately. It does fade quite quickly, so I’ll continue to use it, but won’t try it on my hair, in case the smell lingers. You can buy Alteya Certified Organic Chamomile Water for £7.95 here. Dr. Botanicals Lemon Superfood All-in-One Rescue Butter Dr. Botanicals has featured in several past Love Lula Beauty Boxes, and I have liked all of them. This lemon balm is 96% natural, so again, not as clean as I would hope. It contains lemongrass oil, coconut oil, almond oil, grape seed oil and seabuckthorn fruit oil, to rejuvenate, renew and invigorate dull and dry skin. It smells gorgeous and feels lovely as you apply it. This balm is also a multi-tasker: use it wherever you have dry skin, adding a thicker layer for dryer areas. It also works well as a cleanser, when paired with a flannel or muslin cloth soaked in warm water. I’d also recommend using a miceller water, or the chamomile water in this month’s box to make sure all traces are removed. This balm contains Phenoxyethanol, which can cause irritation so that is worth flagging. You can buy Dr. Botanicals Lemon Superfood All-in-One Rescue Butter for £19 here. Glossworks Nail Polish in Raspberry Parade I’m always happy to try a new nail varnish and this Glossworks one is a fab punchy cool pink shade, again ideal for spring/summer. This 9-free, vegan formula contains no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP, camphor, parabens, xylene, ethyl tosylamide or lead so for a nail polish, it’s pretty much as chemical-free as you can get. You can buy Glossworks Nail Polish in a plethora of colours for £12 each here. Kimberly Sayer Sample Duo I received a couple of sample sachets from one of my favourite brands, Kimberly Sayer, which I am saving for when I go for a night away at the weekend. Recommendations for Using Your 25% Discount If you subscribe to the Love Lula Beauty Box, you’ll have a 25% discount code for the featured brands. So here are some links to previous reviews of products from Alteya and Kimberly Sayer, to help you decide what to treat yourself to. Alteya have some great products, mostly with a gorgeous rose scent. Here is my Alteya brand introduction, where I’ve reviewed several of their products. I’ve reviewed the Kimberly Sayer Ultra Light Moisturiser here, and it’s one of my all time favourites. This would be a great product to use your 25% discount on, if you’re a subscriber.
