CNN’s Pligrim misrepresents the health care debate
On June 15, 2009, in reporting upon the health care debate, Kitty Pilgrim woefully misrepresented the facts on health care debate. Turning now to U.S. politics -- President Obama took his health care campaign today to the nation's doctors -- the medical profession is skeptical of the president's plan. But President Obama continued to push for support of his trillion dollar plan. Suzanne Malveaux reports. Pilgrim conflated the American Medical Association (the AMA) with the nation's doctors. Less than a third of U.S. doctors belong to the AMA, and many physicians, perhaps even a majority of docs, oppose the AMA's opposition to the Obama health care reform.
