The Flash Briefing skill for Alexa is one of the original features for the Amazon devices. These pre-recorded updates delivers the latest news headlines from new providers like the Reuters, the Associated Press, IT/Dev Connections News, Daily Tech Headlines, or weather information like from AccuWeather. The list of providers you setup will all be presented each time you ask for your Flash Briefing or ask “Alexa, what’s in the news?”. These are generally updated daily. To enable a specific skill you first have to enable it. Locate it in the Amazon Alexa app, in the Alexa Skills store, or enable it using your voice. Once you enable a Flash Briefing skill from a provider, you can configure how these news providers and their content are presented, by going into Settings – Flash Briefing in the Alexa app – either on your smartphone or on the web at: http://alexa.amazon.com To initiate your Flash Briefing say something like: “Alexa, what’s my Flash Briefing?” “Alexa, what’s in the news?” You can use the following commands to navigate through your list of Flash Briefings… “Alexa, Next.” “Alexa, Previous.” “Alexa, Cancel.” “Alexa, Stop.” Alexa is available for Amazon devices Echo, Dot, Tap, Echo Show, Echo Look, Fire tablets, and Fire TV, but also on iOS, Android, and the web with Reverb.ai.
